I throw my head back, laughing. This chick. She’s hilarious, and fun, and beautiful, and playful, and fuck, she gets my dick harder than any other chick ever has.

“Ah-ha, and how are we going to know if she does that?”

“It’s a given. The hubby will subtly rub her pussy first, maybe even before the kids fall asleep. She’ll try her hardest to keep quiet, and she’s going to come quick and hard. By that time, she’ll be an animal, so those kids better fucking fall asleep, or they are going to be scarred for life when they watch mummy deep throat daddy.”

“Stop.” I chuckle and approach her. Unfortunately, her little red bikini is covering all the parts I yearn to taste. I’m so tempted to reach out and rip the thin layer of fabric from her creamy skin. I refrain, though.

Not only am I waiting for Grady to give me the ok—if that ever happens—I also want to hold off and show Rhys that there’s more than sex in a relationship. My dick is protesting my life choices right now, but I will keep my word.

“Are you alright?” I ask seriously, running my eyes over her face as I study her reaction. Then her cheeky grin drops.

“Yes.” She nods, her eyes darting down to the water lapping at her thighs.

It’s rare to see Rhys George lose her confidence. I’m glad she feels comfortable around me to show me her vulnerability, but what I really want is for her to feel happy and content again.

When I step up to her and will my body not to be a prick and point my dick at her like she’s a beacon, Rhys drags her eyes from the water, craning her head back to look up at me. I focus on her beautiful face and notice she is wearing less makeup than yesterday. Reaching up, I stroke my thumb over her cheek, where there are small red blotches covering the skin.

“Have you been crying?”

Those chocolate eyes dart from mine to my lips as she shrugs. “Maybe.”

“Did Marcus hurt you?” I growl. I can’t fucking help it. The thought of him hurting her turns me into a beast.

“No.” She answers quickly, shaking her head, her eyes finding mine again. “I mean, not intentionally. It was a little too painful to have him inside me. I guess the thing at the Feast hurt me more than I realised. But we improvised.” She shoots me a slight grin that doesn’t reach her eyes. “I’m feeling a little overwhelmed, I guess. I’ve missed him. It was nice to be with him again, even if it wasn’t the way I wanted.”

I nod. “Good. That’s good, baby. Not the part about you hurting. That’s not good. But the you and Marcus thing is good.”

She smiles and nods back. “It is, isn’t it?”

“Sure is.” I grin. Fuck, she’s beautiful. “And he’s happy to share you?”

Her face morphs into a seductress. “He’s working on it, but he did admit that some group action isn’t out of the question.”

“Really?” My brows shoot so high that I get an instant headache. “And you’d be into that as well?” I don’t know why I asked her that. She goes to sex clubs and has orgies, for fuck’s sake. Of course, she’d be into it. I never thought I’d be into it, but my nearly bursting through my skin dick contradicts that.

“Actually, the thought makes me horny, but it also makes me nervous. Sure, I’ve done the group thing before, but I didn’t know those people. I couldn’t even see their faces. The thought of sharing that with you guys…” She trails off, not able to finish, but that’s ok. I get what she’s saying.

“You don’t have to do anything you don’t want to do.”

“I know.” She whispers.

“Do you, Rhys? I worry you think you have to be sexual in order to keep the guys interested.”

She frowns. “Isn’t that what a relationship is for, though? Having easy access to fuck whenever you want?”

“Fuck no.” I cup her face, so she has no choice but to look at me. “The sex part is just a bonus. It’s a way to share how much you care for each other, but it’s just a small part of a relationship. The rest is made up of sharing feelings, hopes and dreams, worries, and milestones. It’s like having a best friend—a soul mate. You share your lives. They intertwine, and when things get tough, it’s ok because you don’t have to face it alone. You have someone by your side willing to fight for you and with you.”

“Have you been in a relationship before?” Her voice is so small, almost like she’s scared to know the answer.

“No. I read a lot of romance books, though. I’d like to think I know a thing or two.”

A laugh bubbles up from Rhys’ throat.

“You read romance books?”

“Yes.” I frown. “What’s wrong with that?”

“Uh… you’re a dude!”
