I pick her up, kiss her, and hold her against me, and behind me, I hear catcalls. Ainsley, Tansy, Caro, Faye, and Aly all stand there cheering us on.

“Let’s see the ring!” Caro shouts.

“Oh, right,” I say, pulling the ring from the box and slipping the emerald-cut ruby solitaire with an alternating black and white diamond eternity band on Megan’s delicate finger.

“Wow,” she says, staring at it. It sparkles like nothing else but looks unequivocally like her.

“What’s going on?” Ainsley calls from the porch.

“Megan’s making an honest man of Derek,” Zeke says.

“Oh, way to nail that down, D-man!” Ainsley says.

The girls flutter down the steps to flank Megan. The guys surround me, clapping my back and shaking my hand.

“Not to interrupt the celebrations, but we’ve gotta go,” Aly says.

“Don’t want to keep the cameras waiting,” Lex says around a laugh.

“Ains? Where’s—”

“Not talking about it,” Ainsley interrupts.

She looks beautiful in her blue dress, and Megan looks up at her with concern etched on her face. I’m sure we’ll find out what that’s about by the end of the night, but for right now, I only have one thing in mind.

“Come on, wifey,” I say, wrapping an arm around my girl and opening my car door.

“Are we carpooling?” Faye asks.

“Ooh, I call shotgun in D’s car!” Zeke says.

“Fat chance,” I growl, and everyone laughs.

I realize they’re teasing, and I laugh it off good-naturedly. The truth is, I have no plans to go directly to the restaurant and every intention of taking my fiancée somewhere quiet where I can eat her pussy and fuck her before we have to spend a whole night on edge.

I start the car and am about to pull out when Megan places her hand on my arm.

“Thank you,” she says, her voice full of emotion. “The ring is beautiful.”

“I’m glad you like it.”

“I love it.”

“I love you,” I say.

“I love you,” she says, leaning across the console to press a heated kiss to my lips. “You know, I don’t need a big wedding.”

I grin and pull out of the parking spot. “I was hoping you’d say that.”

I nod at the glove box and she opens it. She pulls out the paper sitting on top and gasps.

“But this is for two weeks from today?”

“Is that okay?” I ask.

I know Las Vegas has some bad feelings for her, but I also know we made our own memories there, and I plan to expand on those memories when I finally marry her.

“Is it bad to say I wish it were sooner?”

I grin and shake my head.

“Not bad. Not bad at all.
