?? CHAPTER 14 ??

Macie

I can’t believe I just did that. I basically came all over Ryle’s face while he knelt at my feet. I’ve never felt so damn turned on, ever. But that bumpy tongue drove me right out of my rational mind and turned me into a lump of lust.

And I’m not sated at all.

Crazy. Out of my mind. I wonder again if I’m about to be the first human to fuck an alien. I can’t be. We’ve been sending folks into space for some time now. Though they’re all experimental missions meant to develop settlements on uninhabited planets, obviously our plans are flawed. We landed on the wrong planet. Who knows what kind of trouble the other missions have gotten into?

I dress when I emerge from the water. Ryle pulls an exaggerated pout face at me, but he dresses, too. Then he takes my hand and leads me back to the rock wall.

We silently search for caves or crevices as we walk. I mark our position on my map. If my distance estimations are correct, we’re actually not too far from our camps now. As long as the landscape doesn’t do anything drastic, it should be a straight-ish walk around the shore to the cliffs near the human camps. There should be a path that leads up the cliffs somewhere in that area. I marked a grassy downturn on our map myself. We just hadn’t gotten to explore that far yet.

I’m still poring over my tablet when Ryle shouts my name. I assume that he’s found a place that we can shelter, but no - he points to a cone-shaped arrangement of sticks. A man-made cone-shaped arrangement of sticks.

“My friends!” I circle the cone, and I find a folded note. It says-

“Macie! (Please be Macie!) If you’re reading this note, you’re within range of our antennas. If you still have your tablet you should be able to communicate with us. If you don’t, just keep walking with the ocean to your left. If you are the alien instead of Macie-”

Below there’s a drawing of a blue and gray horned figure - Ryle himself - walking up the beach with an arrow pointing the way.

I jump up and down. “We found them!” I throw my arms around Ryle and squeeze. He grunts in surprise, but his hands find my back. He offers a squeeze in return.

I pull my tablet out and sure enough, I’m able to connect to our ship’s communication center. I open a videochat window and call the ship’s general line.

Tess’s face appears. “Macie! Oh my God! Are you okay?” I see activity over her shoulder. Other crew members gather - Kit, and Viv, and finally my friends from Team C, Skye and Hope. They shout with surprise and lean in around the camera.

“I’m okay,” I say, laughing. “How are you guys? What’s been going on, what have I missed?” Ryle leans in over my shoulder to look. They don’t seem surprised to see him at all. In fact, they all grin.

“Oh good, he’s with you!” Tess says. “His crew will be relieved!”

“You’ve been in touch?” I ask.

“We have,” she says. “It took a minute to get over the shock, but we’ve been helping each other.”

“They fixed our comms,” Hope says, “We’ve helped them with other supplies in exchange. Their ship was so empty.”

“We’re still working on communication,” Tess says. “You should have access to the translator we’ve been building. It’s basic, but it helps.”

I’m so thrilled I could dance. “I was so afraid you guys got flooded out,” I say. “That storm was awful.”

“It was really scary,” Tess agrees. “We lost some stuff. The big tents.” She grimaces. “I can’t believe you survived.”

“Ryle kept me safe,“ I say, glancing at him over my shoulder. He beams.

“Well, hang tight,” Tess says. “Team C is on its way!”

“Thank you, Tess. Thanks for looking for us!”

“Of course we’d look. They’re getting ready to go now. Just keep walking, they’ll find you.”

As soon as we disconnect the chat, I fire up the translator app that appeared on my desktop. It is still in an extremely basic stage - lists of words but very little grammar. Still, it’s a vast improvement. I hit the square for English to Rurimish and say, “My friends are coming here.” A robotic voice translates into Ryle’s language.

He startles. Then he grins a wide grin and grabs the device. He barks into it and it translates, “Happy to see. Sad no cave.”

I don’t know what percent of the day this alien spends thinking with his cock, but I suspect it’s a large number.
