He didn’t open his eyes, but he didn’t deny it either.
“And if you ever try to send me away again–”
His eyes opened now, and his grip around me tightened. “You’re not going anywhere, Lily.”
Relief filled me.
“And if I ever see Devon’s fucking face in the office again–”
I shook my head hard. “He’s a nice guy.”
Con’s grip tightened further, warningly.
“But I was only using him to make you jealous,” I confessed.
“It worked.”
I smiled into his shoulder. “I know.”
