I think he’s just pleased that I’ve finally found a direction and grown up.” He smiled sweetly. “And you know what?”
I shook my head.
“I wouldn’t be doing it without you. You’ve been a stabilizing force. A beautiful, sexy, stabilizing force.”
We hugged and fell into a spell as our lips fused. It felt like our first kiss, which was like every time we kissed.
“I love you, Ivy Starr.” He smiled, holding both my hands while staring into my eyes.
“And I love you, Chase Elliot.”
That shared deep moment soon descended into giggles, and we virtually skipped back to the party.
I had a baby brother, a boyfriend I adored, and an exciting new job. Life just felt great.
