“What are the chances?” Leo said.

“That we run into you in Manhattan, where we all live?” Chase asked sarcastically.

“You’re still in the picture, I see. That would be a record.” Leo switched his focus to me. “When are you going to drop this loser and come out to dinner with me?”

“Leo, I’ve told you, I’m not interested. I’m going to get a restraining order if you keep showing up like this.”

“Hey, this is my local hangout. You showed up on me,” he said.

“I’ll tell you what.” Chase lifted his chin toward the table where Tiffany and her friends sat. “Go over there and tell Tiffany that Chase sent you.”

“I can get my own chicks. I don’t need one of your rejects.”

“I don’t want to go out with you, Leo,” I said.

He looked at Chase then me. “He’s a player, Ivy.”

“You heard her,” Chase said, putting on his territorial-alpha act.

“You’ll see,” Leo said to me before leaving.

I shook my head. “He always shows up. I’m over it.”

Chase took my hand. “You’re not an easy woman to forget.”

He sat so close, I felt his breath on my ear, which sent a shiver of thrill through me. “I kept texting you after the first breakup. You know that.”

I bit into my cheek. His dark eyes shone with sincerity again. But was it just an act for me to rip off his shirt and open my legs?
