“I need food. I’m starving.”

“Pizza?”

“Pizza,” I agree, turning in his arms. “This is nice.”

“It is.” Something flashes in his eyes and I frown.

“What?”

“Nothing.”

“It’s not nothing. You’ve got that look…”

“Shit, Kat. I just… I can’t stop thinking how D would kick my ass if he knew the things going through my head right now.”

“I don’t need his permission, Styx.”

“I’m trying to be a good guy here.”

“Never cared much for the good ones.” I slide my hands up his hoodie, curling my fingers into the soft material. “I’m right here,” I whisper the words onto his lips.

His hands slip down my back and he grabs my ass, pulling me closer. “Such a little brat, tempting me like this.”

He runs his nose along my jaw, kissing the corner of my mouth. “Pizza and then dessert.”

“Mmm, sounds good. But what’s for dessert?”

A wicked glint sparkles in his eyes as he brushes another teasing kiss over my lips.

“You are.”

“God, I’m stuffed.” I rub my swollen stomach as I sprawl out on Styx’s couch. My feet are in his lap, his big hands massaging my soles into heaven.

“That feels so freaking good.”

“I might not be able to cook chicken parm but I can do all kinds of other things with these hands.” A smirk tugs at his mouth and I can’t fight the laughter bubbling in my chest.

“Too much?” he grins.

“It’s just seeing you like this… it’s unexpected.”

“Good unexpected or—”

“Good, definitely good.”

“I’m not always the grumpy asshole you know and love.”

“I’m starting to get that.” I smile back at him.

“A guy could get used to this though.” His hands slide up my ankles, sending a delicious shiver through me. “You and me, lazy days on the couch, watching re-runs of some shitty TV show.”

“Domesticated Stygian, I can’t see it.”

“You don’t think I can be domesticated?” His grips on my leg tightens.

“If your cooking skills are any indication, then no, absolutely not.”
