Opening my eyes, I smiled down at him. “Thank you. Foreverything.”
Reaching up, he flicked his thumb across my nipple and the sensations he created soon had the pressure at a breaking point. When he returned, he brought a hand towel, which he used to gently clean me. He disappeared again and returned with a hand mirror. “Look,” heurged.
Holding up the mirror, I studied my face, wondering what to expect. The bruises on my cheeks were purple, but as I watched, they turned yellow and then were completely normal. I turned my head to see what happened with my cut. It, too, was rapidly healing. “Wow.” I sat up smiling. “That’s somegift.”
“One of my favorites.” Blaise nodded. “How’s yourflutter?”
I gasped. “Gone!”
“Mine too.” He sat beside me on the mattress and cupped my face. “My feelings for you, however, stronger thanever.”
With a nod, I asked quietly, “So nowwhat?”
“You want more?” Blaiselaughed.
“I mean…next, I guess.” I shrugged. “What do wedo?”
“We plan our wedding, Maggie. And we live happily ever after.” He wrapped his arms around me and I settled in against his chest, reveling in the warmth between us. “Is thatenough?”
I sighed, blissfully content. “You’re kidding, right? This is more than I everexpected.”

“Thanks for the hospitality,Fredo. I’m out of here!” I called over my shoulder as I stood in the foyer of my brother’s California estate. Though my brother had been mostly preoccupied with his mate, I’d been able to reconnect with hisbutler.
Fredo came rushing around the corner, a dishtowel flung over his shoulder. “Mr. Draco, you’ve only just arrived. I thought you had some business you wanted to discuss with your brother.” His eyes darted back and forth between my face and the hallway, where he obviously hoped to see some signs oflife.
“I know, but I need to get back. I left Blaise a note on his desk. He’ll reach out when he has a chance. In the meantime, I need to get back to our Boston office.” I sighed as I strode through the door, into the courtyard, and stuffed my belongings in the saddlebags of my bike. His butler followed me out. I paused when I saw the way he stood there wringing his hands. Through the years, Fredo had been snarky, snooty, and superior, but never nervous. “What’s going on, Fredo?” I studied him seriously as I leaned against the leatherseat.
“You’re so…perceptive, sir.” He frowned, but remainedsilent.
I huffed. “And you’re so obvious. Spit it out, man. I have to go. It’s a three day driveback.”
“Perhaps you should fly, sir,” Fredo begannervously.
“And why would I do that?” My brow rose as I crossed my arms over mychest.
Reaching into his pocket, he pulled out his phone, tapped on it a few times and then turned it so I could see. “Forher.”
