I bite my lip to stop myself from saying I told you so. I hand him his coffee. “See? You’re making a mountain out of a molehill.”

His nostrils flare. “I did not imagine someone following us from the bar on Friday night.”

I raise my hands in surrender. “I didn’t say you did.” I might have thought it, but I didn’t say it. Two points for me and my discretion. “But we can’t be sure whoever it was is after me.”

Aiden takes a sip of his coffee before sighing. “I’m starting to think you’re right.”

My mouth drops open. “Did you just say I’m right?”

He smirks. “Smart ass.”

I lean forward and whisper, “As I recall, you like my ass.”

“Damn straight, I do,” he growls as he stands and rounds my desk. He picks me up and sits in the chair, placing me on his lap. “How long do we have before Suzie comes barging in here?” he whispers between placing kisses on my neck. I tilt my head to the side to provide him with better access. “Hailey?”

“Hmm…” Did he say something?

He chuckles before shifting me so I’m straddling him. Now, this is more like it.

“We’re going to lunch,” Suzie shouts.

“But it’s only eleven,” I shout back.

Aiden bites my lip. “Don’t you dare stop the little cockblocker from leaving us alone.”

My eyes widen as I realize why Suzie and Phoebe are going to lunch an hour early. “Oh.”

“Exactly.” He raises his voice, “Lock the door on your way out.”

“You got it, big daddy.”

Aiden smiles before lifting me. “Hey! I was comfortable.”

“Trust me.” He winks before setting me on my desk and pulling me to the edge so my ass is nearly hanging off of it. “I’ll make it worth your while.”

And he does. Twice.
