BROOKE

Devin and Hayden were the first ones to stumble into the kitchen, followed groggily by Reese. The three of them were rubbing their eyes adorably. They stretched their long, muscular arms toward the villa’s thatched ceiling, as I poured another round of freshly-scrambled eggs into a pan.

“Well shit,” I quipped cheerily. “About time.”

One of them grunted and I giggled inwardly. I nodded toward a full carafe of coffee in the center of the table.

“That one’s yours. I’ve had mine already.”

“A whole pot?” Devin asked, rubbing his chin.

“Pretty much.”

Hayden winced against the sunlight as he slid into a chair, looking extra adorable as he shook the sleep from his head. “Exactly how long have you—”

“A couple hours at least,” I shrugged.

“Seriously?”

“Hey, I’m an early girl.”

I didn’t tell them I was three and a half cups of coffee in, or that I’d already gone swimming, showered, and ransacked the amazing fruit platter that had been left outside the door to our villa. I’d devoured so much of it I’d scattered the rest over their plates, alongside the bacon I’d cooked already.

The guys passed the carafe in a circle, sharing it between them as it seemed they shared everything else in life. I couldn’t help but draw the comparison. I’d been thinking about it all morning.

“Sleep well?”

Devin sighed, leaning back after his first sip. He looked more relaxed and awake than the others. “Like a rock.”

“Youfeltlike a rock,” I told him without missing a beat. “One or more of you did, anyway. Poking me in the back like that.”

We’d passed out in whatever bed they’d so thoroughly laid me in, which turned out to be the first bedroom on the left. I couldn’t remember when the others got up and headed into their own bedrooms. I’d been left with Reese, who slept all over me, until a spectacular orange sunrise dragged me to the coffee machine.

“The resort management was calling one of your phones,” I pointed over to where all three of them were plugged into a charging station, “so I answered it. Turns out they found you alternate accommodations in Papeete, over on the main island.”

The guys all stopped whatever they were doing to look at me. Hayden scratched his head.

“Oh.”

I let them sweat it out for another few seconds.

“Are you kidding?” I chuckled. “I told them you weren’t going anywhere. That all three of you were staying with me.”

Pivoting back to the counter, I pulled the eggs from the little stove and divided them evenly over the three plates. I could only imagine their faces.

“Really?” Devin asked hopefully.

“Oh yeah,” I said casually, licking my finger. “I’m not letting you gothateasily. Because what happened last night? We’re doing thatagain. At least once or twice more, before I allow any of you to leave.”

I turned and delivered their breakfast, plate by plate. No one moved.

“Once or twice?” Reese laughed. “Baby, that’s going to happen every night.”

“Oh, I don’t know aboutthat,” I swore.

“And why not?”
