“Here,” he grunted, as I felt a shirt land on my back.Myshirt. “Hurry.”

We got dressed in record time, then slipped back into the hallway. The door closed, the latch clicked, and Danny came strolling around the corner — all within the span of two or three seconds.

“Nothing exciting will happen…” I quipped beneath my breath.

“Shhh,” Devin chuckled.

Danny arrived, holding a half-full bottle of water and a bag of Flaming Cheetos. He regarded us with a nod, then slung his camera from his hip back onto his shoulder.

“You guys all straightened out now?”

From his expression, he didn’t seem to suspect anything. At least not from where I was standing.

“Yeah man,” Devin nodded. “Thanks. From the both of us.”

“Thanks for what?” Danny asked innocently. He checked the hallway in both directions. “It’s not like anything happened.”

“No,” I smiled weakly. “I guess it didn’t.”

With a practiced motion Danny lowered the camera one more time. Winking in our direction, he spoke in a low voice:

“Just win.”
