“That’s because itisthe middle of the pack!” Noah chuckled. He raised his left eyebrow while lowering his right — his trademark move — and peered down at us. “Better get to the airport,” he advised. “You can catch the second flight out if you hurry. Or you can catch the third flight — the one at thebottomof the pack — if you don’t hurry. But hey, that’s up to you.”

Already I could feel a new surge of adrenaline, pushing me out the door. No matter where we were or what we’d accomplished, it always felt like we should be somewhere else. That was the Race. It always got in your head like that.

“See you in London!” Noah winked before singing off. “Or wait… maybe I’m already in London?”

He laughed manically. But as usual, he laughed alone.

“BYE!”

The screen went abruptly dark. The room was just an empty room again.

“That little bastard,” I swore under my breath.

All around me, cameramen shook their heads disapprovingly.

“Sorry, sorry…” I apologized. “Family show. I know.”
