But that smile… that smile was exactly the same. It made reach out for him and pull him down next to me, hyper-aware of the cameras following our every move.

“You ever get close to something fantastic and start second-guessing yourself?” I asked him plainly.

“Sure. Been there, done that.”

“Well that’s where I am. And it’s equal parts wonderful and terrifying.”

He slid an arm around me in a way that was meant to look brotherly. It sure didn’t feel that way though.

“I’d say focus on the wonderful,” he said. “And forget about the terrifying.”

“Why?”

“Because no matter what happens in the next few days, things are going to be amazing for us,” he said confidently. “There’s no world in which this doesn’t end well for all four of us.”

He cocked an eyebrow, leaning in a little closer than before.

“Is there?”

I shook my head immediately. “No, you’re right. There isn’t.”

“Then why worry?” he grinned, as the train took another curve and lurched us in the opposite direction.
