“Maybe,” Aurelius smiled. For a brief instant he squeezed my hips, scanning me up and down. “Maybe not.”

He let go, and once again I turned to face him. Everything around me had faded away at this point. The entire rest of the world was forgotten.

“You already know we’re looking to get away, to start over in this new place we’re building together,” he went on. “That also comes with sharing a woman together. We don’t want three wives, we want one wife between us. We want to make her happy. We want to make her the queen of our world.”

I was silent for a few moments, as my brain struggled to process everything I’d just heard. My shocked expression must’ve been hard to read because Aurelius shook his head.

“You probably think we’re assholes now,” he said miserably. “I’ve completely ruined your opinion of—”

“No!” I cut in quickly. “No, it’s not that at all. I’m just… surprised. I never imagined something like this was even a thing.”

The big SEAL folded his massive arms, shifting from one foot to the other as he towered over me. With his dark hair and sun-bronzed skin he looked like a Spartan warrior.

“Whether it is or not, we’re going tomakeit a thing,” he said definitively. “It’s what we want.”

His eyes flared dangerously.

“And wealwaysget what we want.”
