"What the hell are you doing?"

"I'm taking her away from here. She's not safe."

"Where the hell are you—" He cuts his words off when I pin him with a look and then glance around the room.

He could be listening to everything. If he's been getting inside undetected, then the whole place could be bugged.

Throwing my bag over my shoulder, I storm from the room. "Are you ready?" I bark, standing in the doorway of Mia's room.

"She is," Sasha says, thrusting a bag at me, following orders without question.

"You need to tell me what the hell is going on."

"I will, I promise but we need to leave," I tell her, my voice not allowing any room for question.

"Okay," she breathes, wrapping her arms around Sasha, clearly sensing that we're not going to be coming back for a while. "I'll call you," she promises her before taking a step toward me.

Alex and Brandon emerge the second we get to the bottom of the stairs.

"Anything?"

"No, nothing."

"Fuck. FUCK," I boom.

"Bexley?" Mia's shaky voice helps to calm my anger a little.

"Let's go. I need you out of here right now."

“Wait,” Channing calls, forcing me to look over my shoulder.

He doesn’t say any more, but I can read his unspoken thoughts.

“You’re right. Come on.”

I drag Mia down to the security room so we can wait until it’s dark.

He’s here.

He’s watching.

If we leave now…

He’s in full protector mode, his brows furrowed and jaw clenched, completely aware of his surroundings. I might find it sexy if it weren’t for the fact that he only now believes me.

I stare out of the window, watching the shadows roll by. I have no idea where we’re heading or what the plan is, and I’m too exhausted to argue.

The second we’re out of the gates, Bexley gently applies the brakes and waits.

“What are you doing?” I ask, my heart racing in my chest. “Shouldn’t we—"
