“Yeah, but at least you got something out of it,” Annie said, referring to Maggie’s huge settlement. “I’ll probably have to pay Steve support once I start to work.”

“So, I have a feeling you’re leading up to something, Maggie,” Katrina said.

“Oh, God, I can’t believe it, but I caved. We’re getting married.”

The women yelped, getting up to surround her with hugs.

“It’s fine,” Katrina said. “Don’t let my negativity steal your joy.”

“That’s right,” Annie said. “Kat’s an anomaly, not wanting marriage. You and Justin are so perfect together. I can’t wait!”

“I can,” Maggie said, pushing them away. “I’m not doing anything for it. Justin said he’d do it all.”

“Do Annie and I have to stand up for you again?” Katrina asked.

“Ha! Yes, I’m sorry.”

“When is it? The wedding, I mean.”

“Right before Christmas,” she said.

“Oh, boy, a Christmas wedding!”
