“Please tell me you dance,” she stared at him with a pleading look. Suddenly it was all she wanted. That first dance, a connection of body and souls— and although it’s usually lust exhibited in a vertical format, she wanted to feel his arms around her for that deeper connection experienced during a slow swaying song.

“It’s partly why I brought you here. I already know you’ll fit into my life, Jordan but we’re going to dance together often. Music to me speaks what cannot be expressed, soothes the mind, and gives it rest; heals the heart and makes it whole, flows from heaven to the soul. Combining it with dancing as a conduit, creates an added bond that reaches far beyond a physical connection.”

“I thought we already achieved we have more than purely a physical connection?”

“Don’t misconstrue what I’m saying. I already know we fit but I want to dance with you tonight, firstly for pure pleasure and enjoyment that would enhance our relationship. In doing that, we’ll feel additional emotive closeness, not only to the body but to the mind. There are different kinds of dancing— and not all of them happen on the dance floor. Some are aimed at lust and pleasure, others at reaching a connection so intense it reaches the soul. Moving with the rhythm of music is that perfect expression of symmetry— of two bodies moving together as one. Tonight we’ll experience the pleasure of skin touching skin, Jordan as well as those special moments... those we’ll experience every time we dance… the brilliant feeling of togetherness suspended in time. We’re going to float upward into that emotive platform that two people reach when they’re emotionally connected, relaxed and in complete enjoyment of each other. Years from now when our bodies are wrinkled and tired I know we’ll continue to dance like ageless lovers.”

Jordan stared at him. She’d known there was more to Brock than met the eye but she’d never realized just how in touch with his emotions he was.

“You seem surprised.” He watched her intently. Jordan was the woman he wanted but he had no intention of holding back the man he was. Intense, in every aspect of his life— loving included. If she couldn’t deal with it, he preferred to find out sooner rather than later.

“In a way I am. I know you’re a Dom and I can deal with that aspect of you as a man… I just never realized how conflicting that was to the other characteristics unfurling day in and day out.”

“Is that a problem?”

She tilted her head in thought. “Getting to know someone takes time and along with it comes many challenges. You are an enigma, Brock, and in all honesty, I can’t wait to get to know every aspect of the man you are.” She smiled brightly. “Just as long as you know, you’re about to face the same challenges with me. There is a lot more to me than being a kickass ex-Army Ranger or private PI.”

“That much I’ve already ascertained, little one,” he said dolefully as he smiled at the graying man approaching their table.

“Good evening, Brock. It’s good to see you again.”

“It’s always a pleasure, Emile.” He gestured at Jordan. “This is Jordan Sutton. Meet Emile Garcia, little one, the best Michelin chef this side of Paris.”

“Hmph, he only says so because I’m family,” Emile chuckled as he took Jordan’s hand and kissed it gallantly.

“Family?” Jordan looked between the two men.

“Cecile, bless her soul, was my niece.” He glanced at Brock in apology. “I’m sorry, does she know about—”

“It’s fine, Emile. Cecile will always be a part of my history and I have no intention of keeping anything in my past a secret from her.”

Jordan felt her cheeks bloom with pleasure at the implication, especially as Emile snapped his fingers.

“So, she’s a special one. It’s about time, Brock. Cecile would never have wanted you to live such a lonely life.” He shifted his weight. “Well, enough of that. Do the two of you have any preference for food or can I spoil you with something special tonight?”

Brock glanced at Jordan. “I trust him— well, with food at least. How about it, shall we put ourselves in his hands?”

“I’m the adventurous type,” she smiled at Emile. “Go for it. Surprise us.”

“Wonderful. Your server for the evening will be Jeanette. She’ll be along shortly with a selection of freshly baked breads and the perfectly paired wines for your meal.” He saluted them briefly as he headed back to the kitchen. “Enjoy!”

“Shall we?” Brock preempted the questions he knew Jordan was itching to ask by standing and holding out his hand.

“Now?”

“Stop stalling, Jordan. Let’s dance.”

She moved into his embrace with the grace of a dancer. White teeth flashed against her coral colored lips. “Perfect fit, wouldn’t you say?”

“I believe I did once before and you didn’t agree… hmm, what did you say again? Ah, yes, apparently I was a goliath that made you feel dwarfed by my bulk.”

“I was clearly still a tad dehydrated and groggy at the time. We are a fit,” she said decisively.

“Relax, little one. I’m not about to pounce on you in the middle of the dancefloor.”

“If you did, I’d be happy to oblige.”

The laughter started from deep within to escape in a pleasant rumble. She moaned as the deep echo found resonance inside her soul. It was unfair that he was seducing her without trying.
