The answer was an obvious yes, but it was also a loud as hell no. If hedidhave feelings for me, it would only confuse me more. Especially when he went back to treating me like shit.

What a confusing ass day.

CHAPTER THIRTY-THREE

TEMPERANCE

Just like the night I stayed with Justin and Luna, sleeping between Damian and Asher allowed me to rest completely. The nightmares were nowhere to be found, and I woke up feeling amazing.

My eyes fluttered open to see Damian still sound asleep. My heart stilled in my chest. He looked so peaceful, so unburdened. My head was on his shoulder, my arm draped over his stomach. Asher laid on his side behind me, his arm around my waist.

I closed my eyes and took slow breaths, counting the seconds down like I’d learned to slow my racing mind.Don’t let them get to you, I thought. But when Damian moaned in his sleep and turned his head to the side, kissing my forehead before drifting back off, I knew it was far too late. I didn’t have feelings for the Damian and Asher at Crestview.

I was falling for therealDamian and Asher. The men who laid next to me right at that very moment.

My brain wouldn’t shut up, and I knew I wouldn’t be able to go back to sleep, so I decided to get up. It took several minutes to detangle myself from each of them without waking them, but I managed. I wasn’t sure if they were both super heavy sleepers, or if they were exhausted, but it worked out.

I made my way into the kitchen and nosed around the cabinets again. I cooked for myself, but it was mostly food prep. Large quantities of food I could make last for the full week to keep me on a relatively healthy diet and also because it was easier than cooking every single night for one person.

From the looks of it, I’d missed cooking for others. Either that, or I justlovedworking in this kitchen.

The dishes from the night before had all been done, and I had to assume that was Asher with his rules about cooking.

A chill raced through me, causing me to bite down on my lip as I thought of dear Asher and hisrules. What I wouldn’t give to learn a few…

Then break them.

I wanted to sufferwhateverpunishment he saw fit. Whatever would please him.

Shaking my head clear of the lecherous thoughts, I went to work grabbing ingredients. Though I’d hoped to find some pancake mix, I found all the ingredients needed to make them from scratch instead. I had no doubt the milk in the fridge was bad, but he had an unopened half gallon of almond milk, so I grabbed that instead.

I found both sausage and bacon in the freezer, and I set those out to thaw in hot water while prepping the pancake mix. Frying bacon was the worst thingever, so I baked it instead. I’d only planned to make some pancakes and eggs, but I kept finding things and the breakfast got bigger and bigger.

By the time I’d finished, I’d made sausage gravy and biscuits, cheesy scrambled eggs, pancakes, sausage patties, and bacon. I preferred French toast over pancakes, but since bread went bad so fast, Damian didn’t keep it around. Instead, I made French toast flavored pancakes, and they turned out flawless. Crispy around the edges and fluffy in the middle—just like my mom used to make.

I topped them with powdered sugar and plated everything before setting it on the far side of the island where the barstools were. Though Damian didn’t have some items in his kitchen that went bad quickly, and all his meat was frozen, his kitchen was very well stocked. It made me wonder if he cooked, too. Then again, he could have had a cook or chef come in when he was away from Crestview.

How they hadn’t woken up yet, I didn’t know. The smell of bacon was enough to raise the dead, so they must have beenexhausted.

I snuck back into the living room and made my way over to the blankets piled on the floor. Both of them were sound asleep. Asher’s long, black hair was fanned out all over the place, and I desperately wanted to run my fingers through it.

Lowering myself to my knees, I crawled between them and laid down. “Good morning,” I said in a soft, sing-song voice. I moved to straddle Asher and leaned over, placing gentle kisses on each of his cheeks before kissing his lips.

He moaned and wrapped his arms around me, hugging me tight. “I’ve never woken up like that before, and I have to say, I never want to wake up any other way.” His voice was deep and raspy, and it made me hungry for a lot more than pancakes.

I giggled at his response and kissed him again. “I’m glad you liked it.”

“I did. I’m thinking really hard of sneaking into your dorm room every night just to wake up like this.” He reached down and gave me a light swat on the ass, and I gasped.

“Sir, you better be good. I made breakfast.”

He growled and nipped at my lower lip. “Stop calling me sir. It makes me want to fuck you until you scream for me.” He pressed down on my hips while grinding himself upward against me, letting me feel just how much it turned him on. I fought the urge to rotate my hips and indulge him.

“Mmm. Yes,sir.Good to know.” I teased, then kissed the tip of his nose and climbed off him. “Now get to the kitchen. I’m going to wake this one.”

He grumbled. “Okay, fine. You win.”

He stood as I then moved over to Damian. Before I touched him, Asher lightly grabbed my head from behind and tilted it, so I looked up at him as he leaned over me from behind. His lips crashed against mine in a searing, upside-down kiss. No one had ever kissed me from that angle before, and it was hot as hell. My fingers tangled in his hair for a moment before he pulled away.
