My phone buzzes and I pull it out of my dress pocket. "Excuse me. Hello," I answer, turning away from my ex-husband.

"Hey, Andrea, it's Colby. Your Entegra is primed and ready to go."

"Excellent. Should I arrange to have it picked up?"

"I know it's late, but if you're free this evening, I would love to deliver this beauty to you personally. Show you the bells and whistles myself."

"I'm more than available."

"Great. I can be there in a couple of hours. Looking forward to seeing you again, Andrea." His voice sends exciting electricity through my body.

"See you then."

An hour later, I'm home, scrambling to find something I haven't packed or donated that's both sexy and practical.

My phone vibrates on the bathroom counter, and my stomach flip-flops like I've been dropped from a giant roller coaster.

Am I ready for this?

Am I being too presumptuous?

Am I just too damnold?

I pick up the phone and look at the screen. Oh, it's just Lindsay. Thank God. “Hey.”

"What the hell?" she yells into the phone. "You left me at your kids’ graduation party! I’ve been stuck talking to your crazy Aunt Margarita for over an hour.”

"It's Margie, and you know that. Plus, she loves you and your little button nose." I giggle.

"Stop it." She laughs. "Seriously, what happened to you?"

"Jason was an asshole. We fought, as usual."

"Fights with Jason have never caused you to run."

"No, but a call from Colby saying he wants to deliver my Entegra tonight sure did. I think I will try and cross off number five tonight."

Lindsay whistles. " Good for you. Go get yourself some young, blond stud muffin."

"Am I crazy for thinking I can do this?" I ask. “Am I too old for a one-night stand?”

"Andi, you’re thirty-nine. You are about to hit the prime of your life. Throw caution to the wind and golivea little. And use protection, no matter what he tries to tell you. Call me in the morning, you naughty little minx." She hangs up before I can argue with her.

My phone vibrates again.

Colby:Five minutes away.

Me:K

Shit. I'm the biggest hater of theKresponse. It's so cold and impersonal.

I give myself a once-over in the mirror. There is no hiding my Latina curves in this dress.

Me:Should I come outside?

Colby:I'd prefer if you came inside, but that's an entirely different story.

My face burns fifty shades of red, but my body tingles with an excitement I haven't felt in years. I give myself one last spritz of the new summer body mist I picked up while shopping for the kids, then head outside to see Colby. And my new home, of course.
