"You assumed, huh? You assumed the two of us couldn’t handle an R.V. without a man?”

“No, uh…” His thick throat bobs as he swallows.

"Is there a problem here?" A man too gorgeous for his own good rushes from his office to stop the scene from escalating further, and the salesman sags with relief.

"It was nothing. Sorry for the commotion," I blurt out like I'm trouble in the principal's office.

His striking blue eyes grab mine, sending heatwaves throughout my entire body.

"Wait a minute. Andrea Carrera?" he asks.

I haven't gone by Carrera in almost twenty years. “I'm sorry. Do I know you?"

"Colby. Colby Thatcher. You tutored my sister, Allison, in English during your junior year of high school. I was the dopey thirteen-year-old hanging out in the background." The faint blush in his cheeks makes him even more attractive.

"Oh my gosh. I'm sorry, I don't remember. I have the worst memory." My cheeks burn with embarrassment. "I'm surprised you remember me. I only tutored Allison for a few weeks."

"Who could forget the most amazing, amber-colored eyes a guy has ever seen?" Colby takes a step closer, closing the gap between us. "I know I never have."

His deep voice vibrates through my body. It’s been far too long since a handsome man has flirted with me so blatantly.

"I'm sorry my associate upset you, ladies. I plan to do everything I can to make it up to you."

Lindsay huffs. "I don't know what kind of sexist business you're running here—”

"I'm sure Mr. Thatcher can help me with everything I'm looking for." I wink at Lindsay, then turn my attention back to Colby.

"What are you looking for, Andrea?”

“An R.V.”

Colby’s lips twitch, as that much was probably obvious.

“I’m taking a trip of self-discovery… of sorts," I explain. ."

"Great, let's find you the perfect home on wheels." Colby's reassuring smile gives me a boost of confidence in my decision.

For the next two hours, Lindsay and I check beds, showers, and driver's seats for space and comfort. My first choice is the Entegra Coach from Mercedes, but my budget says that’s way out of my league. So instead, I choose the more affordable Coach Elite for my journey.

“I’ll go begin the paperwork,” Colby says. “Help yourselves to some refreshments and I’ll come find you shortly.”

Nudging my elbow with hers, Lindsay leans toward me. "You know you can afford the Entegra with what you just got from the house," she whispers.

"Yeah, but I'm going to need money to live off of. Eventually, I'll have to get a job."

She gives me an incredulous look. "You do realize your alimony is more than most college-educated people make in a month, right? Not everyone divorces the most successful plastic surgeon in the Bay Area and gets a huge chunk of his monthly salary. Take advantage of the moment. For the first time in your life, splurge on you."

A million things are running through my brain. Should I? Can I? But what if…?

No. Fuck that. This ismytime.

"Hey, Colby?" I call after him as he reaches the front doors of the dealership.

He turns around quickly. "Yeah?"

"On second thought, hook me up with the Entegra. Make sure to throw inallthe bells and whistles." A smile of pure satisfaction stretches my face from ear to ear.
