I take a shaky breath, struggling to clear my mind.

Damon’s lips curve in a mischievous grin. “You’re so cute that I could eat you up right now,” he says with a low growl.

A low whine escapes me. Does he have any idea what his teasing does to me?

His arm tightens around my waist as he leads me into a dance. I don’t even know how I’m keeping up with him because my mind is lost in the low thrums of pleasure coursing through me.

It’s almost scary how much my inner omega wants him. The memory of our kiss ignites my desire. I want to try that out with him again.

Think about Julian, my mind hisses. He still doesn’t know about the kiss I shared with Damon. Coupled with the fact that he’s unaware of me being an omega, I realize how much I’ve been keeping from him.

Guilt weighs heavy in my gut, chasing away the effects of my raging hormones. It’s the only thing that keeps me dancing with Damon like a sane person.

“What’re you thinking about?” he asks after a while.

“Did you tell Julian what happened between us?”

“Julian spends most of his days with you. I’m sure he’s been intimate with you plenty of times and he’s never once come confessing to me,” he replies with a grim look in his eyes.

“We’re close but he’s never kissed me.”

“So, what? It’s obvious that he wants you. The question that remains is...whether you want him. And me.”

“What about the crap my parents pulled? Can you ever forget about that?”

His brow quirks. “Do you see me kissing them?”

A chuckle bubbles on my lips. “That’s not what I meant. Don’t you hate me? Not even a little?”

“No.” His hand comes up to move a stray strand away from my eyes. “My brothers don’t hate you either. Can’t you tell?”

I stay silent, desperately searching his eyes.

He cups my face and I tilt into his touch. “Why are you fighting this so hard?” he asks in a gentle voice. “What are you scared of?”

“I’m scared of ruining everything.”

His face hovers over mine. He’s painstakingly slow as he moves closer to me, his lips brushing against mine.

I can’t hold back anymore.

I meet his lips and open up to him.

Damon’s hand cups the back of my neck, holding me in place as he deepens the kiss.

My entire body comes alive at his touch. Pure pleasure flows through me, warming me thoroughly. Even the music around me fades away.

At that moment, it’s only Damon that I’m aware of. His touch, his scent, his very being.

His eyes are shining with unsuppressed desire when he parts away. “You’re mine, Iris. You’ve been mine since the moment you smashed my head and made me bleed.”

My eyes widen. “I’m so sorr—”

His finger falls on my lips, cutting me short. “Don’t apologize. I was the bastard who’d come to take you away.”

My body follows his moves without me needing to be aware of the music. It’s like I was always meant to be his dance partner.

“Are you still worried about Julian?” he asks.
