CHAPTER5

Candy

I stared at my reflection for the umpteenth time that day alone. My grip on the ugly Formica counter was so tight my knuckles were white. I wasn’t certain I recognized the face staring back at me. She was entirely different than the day before. Why?

Because she’d not only accosted a huge gorilla of a man who had to be a serial killer, she’d liked it. Why were the stupid lyrics, ‘I kissed a girl and I liked it’ floating around in my mind? This was entirely different.

And the brute was all male. Every. Single. Inch. As I wiggled, the cotton panties I’d chosen for the night couldn’t prevent the dense khaki fabric of my skirt from scratching my bottom. Even after over twelve hours, I could still feel the burning sting from the spanking he’d given me.

He. Him. It. Monster.

Kirill.

There. I’d finally thought his name, but I couldn’t say it out loud. Not inside the bar anyway. There were some things a girl just couldn’t do. Sure, she could fuck a savage but not speak his name because of his heritage. I rolled my eyes before tugging my ponytail holder from my pocket, yanking my hair behind my head. I could still feel his rough fingers touching me, stroking me.

Although it was impossible given the two showers I’d taken, I was able to gather a whiff of his masculinity.

And I wanted more. God help me, I did.

After finishing my hair, I took a deep breath, allowing faded visions to swim through my mind.

He’d been so… authoritative, controlling yet easily the most passionate man I’d ever met. I closed my eyes, tilting my head until the air conditioning vent tickled one side of my neck. Other than the temperature difference, the sensations reminded me of when he’d blown across my face seconds before devouring my mouth.

Just thinking about his gorgeous body, including the best-looking ass in the world made me tingle all over. I shifted my fingers down the side of my neck with a deep sigh. How the hell was I going to get him out of my life now that he’d claimed me as his own?

“Girl. Are you alright?”

I jumped, almost hitting my head against the glass. A rush of embarrassment flooded me, scooting up both sides of my face. Damn it. This was getting ridiculous. What had happened was an atrocity, disgusting. That’s the way I had to look at it. Then I’d be forced to try to ignore his advances.

Advances?

Who the hell was I trying to kid? He wasn’t going to take no for an answer. Short of moving out of the city, or better yet, out of state, I doubted Kirill would leave me alone. I made a face at the girl entering the bathroom. Tanya was another server, one of the few who bothered to talk to me.

“I’m fine. Just… I’m just thinking.”

The look on her face mischievous, she glanced around the bathroom then lowered her voice. “If you ask me, it looks like you got lucky last night.”

Another rush of embarrassment almost knocked me over. “Nothing like that.” Almost everything he’d said to me continued to play in my mind as it had since I’d closed my eyes in my own bed. That hadn’t been until well after dawn.

“Uh-huh. Did anyone ever tell you that you’re a terrible liar?”

“All the time as of late.” I took several deep breaths, trying to get the man out of my head. What also bothered me was the fact he thought I’d been sent by somebody. To do what? What in the hell could a girl half his size do?

“Come on. We have a few minutes. Confess.”

“There’s nothing to confess. I had a drink with somebody, and we hit it off.”

“Get out of town and I don’t buy it for one second,” she snorted and pushed her arm against mine. “You have that glow, a bright shining aura surrounding you. You know that only happens for two reasons. Right?”

I narrowed my eyes, glaring at her.

“After wicked wanton sex and when you’re pregnant.”

The last word almost made me want to vomit. “I assure you that I’m not pregnant. It takes good sex to do that.” As soon as the words had flown out of my mouth, I sucked in my breath. Was I still thinking I’d dreamt the entire thing? I rubbed my forehead, longing to scratch out her eyes as she chuckled, the sound more like a cackle.

“Whoever he is, the dude must be pretty damn hot. Maybe he has a twin brother,” Tanya cooed.

Dear God. I hoped to hell he didn’t. The world couldn’t handle one of him as it was. “Ha. Ha. Let’s get to work.”
