“Mmm… You should know better than to deny me anything.” When I rolled her over, freeing her hands, she smashed her fists against my chest, leaning down until our lips were almost touching.

“You aren’t in control of me.” She pressed her knees against my sides, rocking up and down, tossing her hair across my chest.

I cupped her breasts, enjoying watching her as she shifted into the throes of pleasure. When her breathing changed again, I could tell she was close to climaxing. I lifted my hips, meeting every hard thrust, my cock swelling deep inside.

“Oh, God.” Her moans penetrated the morning air, her long lashes skimming across her cheeks. As her pussy muscles clenched and released, I pinched her nipples, twisting both until she cried out as a slice of pain rolled through her.

Then she tossed her head back with a single scream, bucking against me hard and fast.

As an orgasm swept into her, I rolled my hands up to her face, forcing her to look at me. And the moment she called out my name, there was no way I could hold back any longer.

“Alexei. Yes. Oh, yes.”

I erupted deep inside, every muscle tensing. We were both breathing hard, and I could tell by the shimmer in her eyes that I’d satisfied her cravings. I pulled her against me, sliding one hand down her back, our hearts beating in the same rhythm.

“This isn’t real,” she whispered after a few minutes had passed.

“This is what we allow it to be.”

“That’s not always possible.” There was no hint of emotion in her tone, only a placid statement that had become as much a part of her world as it had mine. I continued stroking her arm until she pushed against me, rising to a sitting position. “Not ever.”

The finality meant she’d made a choice. Whether I would allow her to return to her everyday life could prove to be a difficult decision.

“I suggest we get changed. We have the entire day ahead of us. There are places I want to show you on the island.”

Stephanie eyed me carefully before easing her legs off the bed. “You’ve been here before.”

“Maybe once or twice.”

“I wonder how many other secrets you’ve yet to tell me.” As she climbed off the bed, I took a few seconds to luxuriate in the sight of her.

While some would say the truth could set her free, I knew differently. Once she learned my true intentions, she would do everything in her power to shove me into the fires of hell.

As she would tell me, where I belonged.

Stephanie

“Just find out the goddamn information, Kirill. I don’t care what you need to do. Some motherfucker will open his mouth. They always do. I need a head on a goddamn silver platter for this bullshit.”

I’d overheard him, determined to find out what had troubled him the night before. He’d been different after returning from the wine shop. Even though he’d pretended that everything was the same, my instinct told me he’d used the time to handle some aspect of ‘business.’ As soon as I’d digested the words, I knew I was right. My thoughts drifted to the man who’d accosted me. I’d had ten minutes to myself when he’d gone to change clothes to try to find any indication there’d been violent activity on the grounds the night before.

Alexei had almost caught me making a call to the front desk. I’d seen the cold look in his eyes as soon as he’d walked into the room, his gaze falling to the phone on the nightstand only inches away. While he’d said nothing, I couldn’t get over the feeling he’d seen or heard me.

There was something about the sheer physicality of him that both terrified and excited me. While he was a large, rugged man by any standards, his dangerous aura had more to do with the way he carried himself as well as his changing expressions. He’d issued one of those looks the moment the restaurant host had attempted to ignore Alexei’s table request at breakfast. I’d seen a stronger one the moment he’d handled the man who’d accosted me at the bar.

And when he walked into a room, there wasn’t a single person who didn’t take notice. Just being around him created a bubble surrounding us that it seemed everyone noticed. While it was protective, the sense of danger never left me. What we were sharing was caustic at best, sinful enough I should be ashamed of myself, but with every touch of his hand, my core pulsed from the rush he gave me. He’d driven us both into the most basic primal level of hunger, refusing to allow me to catch my breath.

Even now, he insisted that he drive the Jeep I’d rented, his handling of the vehicle a clear representation of his personality. He’d pulled off the vehicle’s removable top, insisting we enjoy the natural beauty of the island. The man acted as if he had a death wish, or perhaps he believed himself to be immortal. There were almost no overhangs or gulleys on the sides of any of the narrow, mostly two-lane roads. With the mountainous terrain, the drop-offs were within inches of the pavement itself. He remained as if completely impervious to the danger. One misstep and the Jeep would tumble down the mountainside.

I would normally be terrified, refusing to stay in the vehicle with him, but even the way he drove was exhilarating.

Now we sat at a small table located outside a vividly colored building, the light breeze carrying the sound of music coming from a street band fifty yards away. He’d ventured into an area not usually visited by tourists, the authentic setting exactly what I enjoyed about getting away to the islands. Everything was more relaxed, the food delicious, and the atmosphere unlike anything I’d ever found in New York.

He remained quiet and had since he’d taken me the moment I’d awakened. Sleep had come easily, but only after I’d watched him remaining guard by the open doors, the outline of his weapon highlighted by the glowing moon. Had he been protecting me or was he simply incapable of relaxing even here?

“You’re not eating,” he stated, the tone clearly chastising me.
