“Alright, let’s go,” says Seth while charging forward.

I shake my head and roll my eyes. Typical Seth, always needing to lead the way when he has no clue where to go.

“No, that’s okay. It’s a small party,” I say.

Seth slowly turns around and frowns at me. “Huh?”

I shrug. “You don’t really know the people.” I know I sound weird, but I really don’t want them there with their judging, scrutinizing eyes. They wouldn’t understand. “It probably won’t be all that fun.”

“No,” says Lucas while grabbing my shoulder. “You’re coming with us. I’m over this whole disappearing act.”

I smack his hand away. “What is that supposed to mean?”

Lucas scoffs. “You really don’t get it, do you?”

I cross my arms and look between the three. “I didn’t ask for you to come.”

“Hunter, we’re your friends,” says Seth while moving to stand next to Lucas. “Of course we’re going to see your games.”

“Even if you don’t play,” Lucas adds under his breath.

“Oh, fuck you!” I shout while whirling around.

“Fine!” I hear Lucas shout. “But don’t call me next time when you find yourself in a bind. I’m tired of being your mother.”

“Fine!” I shout, not bothering to look back. They all can go fuck themselves. I’m fine. I don’t need them. I have Jerry and Drew. They have my back, more than those assholes anyway.

Who needs those assholes anyway?
