“Says you,” Seth grumbles.

“Food,” Hunter groans while stretching his arms above his head. My gaze flies to his shirt slightly lifting up, revealing his hard and cut stomach. “Where is it?”

“Right around the corner,” says Lucas while stalking to the front.

Seth shakes his head, shoving a finger into his ear as if he’s trying to let out water from swimming for so long. “Ugh,” he groans. “My ears are ringing. I don’t think I’ll ever be the same.”

I chuckle and wrap my arms around Seth’s waist, tugging him toward the exit. “Don’t be such a drama king. It wasn’t that bad.”

“It was terrible!”

“Alright!” Alex shouts while clapping his hands together. “Hotel is that way.” He points to the Hilton on his right. “Pizza is that way.” He points to the pizzeria on his left. “Seth and Hunter, why don’t you go with Rachel and relax in our room while Lucas and I get the pizzas?”

Seth frowns and plants his hands on his hips. “Who made you boss?”

Alex smiles mischievously and crosses his arms. “Why me, of course.”

Seth opens his mouth to complain, but my hand on his shoulder stops him. “Seth, I want to hear all about your Christmas,” I say, quickly changing topics. “I’m sure you have loads to tell me.”

Seth purses his lips, his eyes glancing to Alex before giving me a curt nod. “Fine,” he grumbles. “I want pepperoni,” he adds, shaking a finger at Alex.

“Pepperoni it is,” Alex confirms with a nod. He turns to Hunter, who looks about two minutes from passing out right here and now on the sidewalk. “Redbull, big guy? Or Monster?”

Hunter winces and presses his fingers against his temples. “Anything. Doesn’t matter.”

Alex turns to me, his gaze softening and filling with adoration. “And you, Princess?”

Seth groans and rolls his eyes.

“Pineapple pizza,” I say with a stern look.

“No!” Seth wails, but before he can say anything else, I drag him and Hunter toward the crosswalk, leaving Lucas and Alex to deal with the pizza.

“Pineapple,” Seth continues complaining as we cross the street. “Why the fuck would anyone like pineapple pizza? So fucking gross. I can’t believe—”

“Oh my God, Seth, will you just shut up,” Hunter groans as he stalks past us. “I can’t handle any more of your complaining.”

Seth glances at me, and I watch as all the fight leaves his gaze, filling with worry. “Sorry, Hunter,” he murmurs as we finish crossing the street. We find ourselves standing in front of the sparkling, rich looking hotel that Alex booked for us. “I didn’t mean to be such an asshole.”

Hunter groans, clamping his eyes shut briefly before opening them and forcing a smile. “I know. You’re just being you. I’m tired.”

I stroke Hunter’s arm, hoping my warmth and my love can help him relax. “Let’s get to our room and you can have a rest on our giant bed.”

Hunter raises an eyebrow. “Giant bed?”

I giggle and lead the way into the hotel, pushing the revolving door forward and pausing in the glittering lobby. A chandelier sparkles above us, and a row of front desk clerks stand at attention with bright smiles on their faces. As Seth and Hunter leave the revolving door, their wide eyes go to the ceiling, staring up at the chandelier before continuing to look at the comfy sofas to my right, and the extravagant looking bar to the left. Their mouths hang open as their gazes meet mine.

“Wait,” says Seth while stumbling forward. “I thought we were staying at your parents?”

I wince and turn around. “Yeah,” I say awkwardly, gripping my hands in front of me. “We are. But things have been a bit… weird there and Alex thought this would be nicer.”

I hear Seth’s sharp inhale and glance over my shoulder, finding him scowling and shoving his hands into his jean pockets. “Alex?” he grumbles.

Shaking my head, I grab both Hunter and Seth’s hands and tug them toward the elevator. “You know,” I whisper to Seth, “one of these days you are going to have to end the war between you and Alex.”

Seth turns to me, a bitter smile taking hold of his lips. “Today is not that day, Rachel.”

It doesn’t take long for us to get up to the tenth floor and find our room. Once again, Seth and Hunter are wide eyed as they enter. It’s funny to watch them, seeing the surprise and wonder taking hold of their face. It’s the same reaction I had not all that long ago, when Alex and I first checked into the hotel. My gaze goes to the bed, taking up nearly the entire space of the room. It really is giant. I don’t think I have ever seen a bed this big.
