Josh steps toward me, his hands clenching as if he’s struggling not to punch me. “Stay away from us, Rachel,” he hisses. “I know you can’t stand the idea of me not wanting you.”
“What a load of bullshit!” I shout.
“I can’t have you ruining my life any more than you already have.”
I gasp, completely flabbergasted by what he’s saying. I can’t believe my ears. “Ruin your life? Do you even know what you did to me?”
Josh sighs and pushes away from the wall. “I see you still want to live in your lies, Rachel,” he says while shaking his head. “Whatever you think happened, it didn’t. You’re not that great.”
I watch him go, my mouth hanging open. Charlie scowls at him as she watches him open the door. Her gaze turns to me, a question on her lips she doesn’t voice.
“I have no clue what the fuck that was!” I shout, answering the question in her gaze.
But I’m not dropping my class. Not for that lowlife loser. And I’m going to keep an eye on Lauren. If he’s worried about me interfering in his life, then there’s a reason for it. I’m not going to let what happened to me happen to her. Even if she can be a bitch sometimes.
