“Where are you going?”

What is he? My mother? “For a run.”

“Now?” Alex says incredulously.

“Yes, now. I need to train.”

“Seth.”

His hand on my shoulder stops me, and I stifle the need to yell at him, knowing it will only lead into a fight. His concerned gaze meets mine and I cross my arms, waiting for him to tell me something stupid; like how I should stay in and rest.

“You’re hungover,” Alex starts. “You can train tomorrow. You should be sleeping.”

I push his hand away, already over his little speech. “I’m fine,” I say while grabbing my jacket and shoving it on.

“At least eat something.”

“I run better on an empty stomach.”

“Seth—”

“Leave me alone, Goode!” I shout while throwing the door open. “Not everyone can be as perfect as you. Some of us have to work for it.”

I slam the door closed, not wanting to hear his response as I quickly run down the steps. The chilly air feels amazing against my skin, and I immediately break into a run. My body feels lighter. The shakes are already disappearing. I close my eyes, enjoying the wind rustling my hair, blowing against my skin. I feel like I’m flying, I feel like I’m soaring and it’s the most wonderful feeling in the entire world.

And no one, not even Alex Goode, is going to take that away from me.
