His gaze meets mine and he sighs. “Nothing, sorry. How was class?”

I throw my head back, groaning loudly. “It was like watching paint dry. For the first time in my life, I'm considering a different profession. Do you think I'm hot enough to become a stripper?”

He snorts. “Absolutely, but if you even consider it, I'll handcuff you to my bed until you come to your senses.”

My hand moves to my chin as I hum. “Doesn't sound like such a bad idea.”

Wrapping his arms around me from behind, he growls into my ear. “No one gets to see this body but me. Got it?”

“Easy, babe. Your possessive side is showing,” I tease.

He smacks my ass before letting go of me to unlock his car. “Only for you.”

We get in, and I toss my books into the back seat. “All I can say is I'm looking forward to having the next week off. After my classes tomorrow, I'm done for a week. Whoever created Thanksgiving break is a godsend.”

Zayn looks like he goes deep in thought before turning to me. “Wh

at are your plans? For break I mean.”

“I didn't really have any. My parents are going to see Nana in Washington, and I already told them I don't want to go.” I shrug. “So, I guess just hang at home with you and Easton.”

I don't bother asking him if he plans on going home. Zayn has never spent any holidays with his parents unless they all happened to be in the same house, and then the most they celebrated was just saying something to acknowledge it, like Merry Christmas.

“Would you want to get out of here for a few days?”

My brows furrow. “To where?”

He bites his lip. “Rhode Island. I told Knox I'd come visit one of these days, and what better time than now?”

The idea of getting days straight with Zayn where we wouldn't have to hide is so tempting it's almost overwhelming, but we'd be naive not to talk about the elephant in the room. “What would we tell Easton?”

“Well, I heard Kennedy asking him to come home with her for break.”

“They're that serious?”

He chuckles. “I guess so.”

My smile only grows. “So, as long as we leave after him and get home before him, we should be good. I'll text Kennedy and ask what their flight plans are.”

I RUB MY EYES tiredly as I follow Zayn onto the plane. It's only six in the morning, and in order to get here in time and get through security, we had to be up by three-thirty. Thankfully, Easton's flight with Kennedy was last night. As far as he's concerned, we're spending a quiet Thanksgiving at home, filled with McDonalds and cheap champagne. He said he felt bad leaving me, but I insisted he go.

I'm not sure what's going on between him and Kennedy, but it's obviously getting to be enough where she wants to introduce him to her parents. Granted, I think she's always been more invested in things than he is, but she makes him happy, and that's all that really matters.

Zayn leads us to our seats and gives me the one by the window. He puts our luggage in the overhead compartment before sitting down next to me. I buckle my seatbelt and rest my head on his shoulder. It won't take much before I'm sound asleep again.

Just before I dose off, something occurs to me. “Zayn?”

“Yeah?”

“Does Knox know about us?”

He snickers and turns to kiss the top of my head. “It's Knox. What do you think?”

I let out a breathy laugh. “Yeah, okay. Stupid question.”

IT TAKES A WHOLE six hours to fly all the way across the country, and my legs are cramping by the time the plane finally parks at the terminal and they turn off the fasten seatbelt sign. I stand up, and my knees buckle under the uncomfortable pressure.

“You may have to carry me,” I whine playfully. “No one should ever sit in one seat for that long.”
