“N-nothing, I’m just ticklish on that side,” I lie. “Try the other.”

He gently kisses the right side of my neck and I moan in relief when it doesn’t cause the same reaction. I drag my nails down the back of his shirt, wishing it would just disappear. His mouth sucks at the sensitive skin in a way I know is going to leave a mark, but I can’t be bothered to care. It feels too good.

Now, if only I could get my mind under control.

WALKING INTO THE DANCE studio, I watch Lennon dance in the mesmerizing way she does. The things she can do with her body are out of this world. I’ve only ever seen two people dance the way she can—her and Savannah. Sav had talents that were so unmatched she was offered a full scholarship to Juilliard Academy of Dance. If Lennon wasn’t totally loaded, she’d probably be offered one as well. She’s already hopeful to join Savannah there next year.

Brady sits on the floor with his back against the wall, watching her closely for any mistakes or places for improvement. He might not be the owner of this place, but you can tell he loves being here just as much as his mom does. He’s spent his life at this studio, and may be even more skilled than his mother. Mrs. Laurence focuses more on the younger students while Brady takes the older, more experienced dancers. At this point, he’s more their friend than he is their teacher.

“Raise that leg higher, Lennon,” he commands.

“If I raise it any higher, I’ll dislocate it.”

He gets up and walks over to her, placing one hand on her hip and the other under her leg. I’ve never been so jealous of my best friend in my life. It doesn’t matter that he’s gay. Brady Laurence is fucking hot, though he doesn’t compare to Asher, so I really can’t complain.

I watch as he moves her positioning just slightly, and Lennon’s leg is able to be lifted a few more inches without causing her any pain at all. She rolls her eyes playfully and smacks his hand to release his hold on her. Then, she goes right back into the routine like she didn’t miss a single beat. Brady chuckles and comes over to me.

“Hey, Tess. Here to pick up sassy pants?”

Keeping my eyes on my best friend, I nod. “Yeah, but I’ll wait. We’re having a girls’ night.”

He instantly pouts. “Why am I never invited to girls’ night?”

My brows furrow. “Uh, because you’re not a girl?”

Lennon is in the middle of an intense spin but laughs anyway. “Oh, please. He’s more of a girl than I am.”

“Hey!” Brady chucks his empty water bottle at her. “I’ll have you know that Jake is the girl in our relationship, thank you very much.”

Images that I’m mentally torn on play in my mind. “Wow. In just five minutes I’ve learned more about you than I ever wanted to know.”

He throws his head back, laughing. “Right. Like every girl in this town hasn’t wondered what he and I are like in bed.”

Well, he’s not wrong. When it first came out last year that he’s been dating a guy for the pa

st four years rather than Savannah Montgomery, like everyone thought, we had a bet going on who bottoms. A part of me considers tracking down Carter and Jace to collect what I’m owed. As repulsed by the idea as they were, Carter said there was no way in hell a dancer was the manly one out of the two. I, however, knew Brady is nothing if not masculine.

Lennon finishes up a few minutes later. Brady and I clap as she finishes, simply because she deserves it. If I could do half the things she can, maybe getting Asher into bed with me wouldn’t be so difficult.

“All right, jerk,” she says to Brady. “I’ll see you tomorrow.”

“You better. Later, Tess.”

“Bye, Brady.”

We walk out of the studio and over to my car. As soon as we get in, she tosses her phone into the cup holder and turns to me.

“Okay, so tell me. Did you two talk about yesterday?”

I say nothing as I slide my sweatshirt down my neck. Her eyes widen the second she sees it.

“Holy shit! Is that a hickey?”

She pokes it and I flinch while knocking her hand away. “No, I put makeup on my neck to make me look like a ho. Yes, it’s a hickey.”

“Damn,” she says, impressed. “I didn’t take Asher for the leaving marks type.”

“I’m not sure if he is. We went back to his place for a bit and I think he may have just gotten caught up in the moment.”
