Chapter 21

Asra

Sitting in the frontseat of Breckin’s fancy, sports car, we speed through the small town. I grip the car door, steadying myself as Breckin makes a hairpin turn. Behind me, Brendan reaches up and strokes my hair.

I take a deep breath, trying to calm my nerves. It’s just a car ride. Just a date with two men.

Two.

Still, as the houses thin out and the dark forest takes over, I tense again. It doesn’t help that my underwear is still in Breckin’s pocket. Squeezing my legs together, I try not to think about it.

“We’re not going hiking again, are we?” I ask as Seaside becomes a glowing dot in the mirror.

“Nope.” Smiling, he shifts gears, then runs his hand along my thigh.

The motion doesn’t help. Neither does their musky, woodsy cologne. I squeeze my legs together tighter and try to relax, but my nerves have different plans. I’m falling for them both. Less than an hour ago, I was certain I wanted only Brendan, the connection we felt at my place was simply too strong to ignore. But then, I saw Breckin, and my body reacted despite my attempts not to. Now, I’m even more confused than before.

How can I want two men at once? And what will everyone say when they see us all together? It’s a date in freaking public. Maybe I should have just said to stay at their place.

Biting the inside of my cheek, I stare out the window, trying and failing to make heads or tails of all my thoughts. All too soon, we pull into a half empty parking lot nestled in the forest. The run-down log cabin covered in old license plates at the front of the lot looks about as appealing as me trying to sunbathe in the middle of the afternoon.

“Really?” My features contort with disbelief as I turn to Breckin.

He squeezes my thigh, then places a soft kiss on my nose. “It’s nicer on the inside. And the food is amazing.”

I ignore his hand. Ignore the way my body heats up and tenses. “How did you even find this place?” I’ve lived here for five years and didn’t know it existed.

He tilts his head toward his brother in the backseat. “Ready?”

I blink, peering out the windshield at the dilapidated building, half expecting some masked guy to run out with a chainsaw. “No.”

Brendan chuckles. Leaning forward, he whispers in my ear. “What’s the matter, Prude? Afraid the big, bad wolf might be in there waiting to eat you?”

I swallow.

He trails his index finger down my neck. His deep, rumbly laugh vibrates straight to my core. “Little Girl, we’re the only ones going to eat you tonight. And if memory serves, we’ve both already done it.”

Some strangled sound escapes my lips.

Tracing his hand in a circle, Breckin teases his fingers underneath my dress. “Do you trust us?”

Biting my lip, I nod as the air heats up.

“Are you ready for dinner?”
