She clung to him, and his own movements became fractured, uneven, and when he found his release, it sent her to heights her own had not.

In that moment, he needed her.

He needed her.

And she had never felt so alive. So herself.

He needed her so many times that night she lost track. There on the cushions in the living room, and then in his room, with a large canopied bed.

And she would never again misunderstand what that motion next door might be. Though she would say now, it was weak in comparison to what she’d experienced.

Krav was a dream. A fantasy.

One she didn’t want to wake up from.

But when morning came, he was there, looking at her like she was a revelation. And so she stayed. And stayed.

The days and nights melted together, and she began to think that this might be everything.

By the time she was able to get a hold of Jaia, she told her that she wouldn’t be finishing the trip with her.

Because she had met a man.

And it was so satisfying to be the one to have found someone. To be the one having a wild, delicious affair.

To be the one falling in love.

Krav was beautiful. Her Tiger. This man who had taken everything she thought she knew about herself and upended it. They stayed in the tree house for a while. But then after that, he took her to a brilliant hotel in Siem Reap, and they got reservations at the most coveted table in the entire country, where she was served gourmet delicacies that thrilled and delighted her.

“We should go to Europe,” he said.

She had left her waitressing job before the trip, it was always easy enough to get hired for another job like that, at least it had been for her.

There was the apartment, but that was taken care of until she and Jaia were meant to come back from Cambodia.

There was no reason to not pack up and go with him. Anywhere. Everywhere.

“I feel like there’s so much about you I don’t know,” she said. “And I have told you everything about my life.”

“Surely not everything,” he said, grinning as he held a bite of chocolate cake up as a temptation across the table. “I am absolutely certain there is more that I don’t know.”

“There is certainly no more to be seen.”

She was shameless with him. And she had never imagined that she could be shameless. But he lit her on fire, from the inside out. Turned her into a stranger, and she wanted to stay this stranger.

This woman who was wild and sensual, who had no boundaries in bed with this glorious, gorgeous man who ignited need within her with a simple look across the room.

But she knew that she was living in a fantasy. Around the edges of this, that reality hovered.

He had to have a job. He had to have a real life. And she was beginning to sense that it wasn’t here. But he was not forthcoming with information about himself at all.

“I do have work,” he said after they’d spent a week in that glorious hotel. “But I tend to do it while you sleep. And yes, soon... Soon I will need to get back to life. But for now...”

“But what is that life?”

“It is none of your concern.”

And that should’ve been the first indicator to her that it was not for him what it was to her.
