Unexpected because walls she had not known existed were collapsing, and the tiny bites and licks to each other’s mouth were mutual. She was at his neck, licking the salty skin, as he pulled her dress higher up, and now his erection was lodged against her knickers, damp and swollen on her stomach. She lifted herself up and Dante rubbed the head of his erection against cheap red satin.

‘Tear them...’ she pleaded, for he would be so worth the waste.

‘Hold on...’

Dante was panting, as if from the sheer exertion it was taking for him not to take her now, and for Alicia it was the same—she was desperate for him as he peeled apart the rest of the poppers of her dress.

‘I want to see you.’

Though he didn’t really get to look, because she was smothering him with her full breasts.

‘Oh, God...’ Alicia gasped, desperate for his mouth to claim her breast through the lace. It did, in a deep, sensual suck, and then another. But when satin and lace were too much of a barrier he pulled his head back—to expose her breasts, she guessed. But instead he held her still. He made no move, just held her by the arms.

Her eyes flew to his in question. Alicia saw anger blazing in his navy glare, and his words were pure venom.

‘This is a set-up.’

CHAPTER THREE

‘DANTE!’ ALICIAWOULDDIE, she would lie, she would give anything not to be left like this. She was on the edge, desperate to answer the call to breach the void. ‘It’s not a set-up. This isus...’

She was trying to get back to his mouth, but he turned his face so she only got his cheek.

‘Come now, Alicia,’ he said, and he pushed her away, pulling the sheet back over himself.

He looked down at the red panties and so did she. She saw the little diamante heart, the silky black hair of her triangle, and even his erection peeked out for another look.

Angrily, he covered it. ‘Nice underwear for work.’

‘My underwear is not your business.’

‘It is when you bury my face in your breasts.’ Dante tipped her off his lap. ‘I knew you were lying all along.’

‘I wasn’t,’ Alicia attempted—except she had been...right up to the last second.

‘Jesus, what is it you want?’

‘Dante—’

‘Whatever it is, just say it.’

She stood dishevelled, doing up her poppers, retrieving her discarded apron. She was mortified.

‘I don’t want anything,’ she told him.

‘Oh, please,’ he sneered. ‘I can’t even sleep without someone coming after me for something.’

He reached to the floor for a jacket and pulled out a packet of cigarettes. And that confused her further. Because not only did he not smoke, but also... ‘Dante...è contro il regolamento. It’s a non-smoking hotel...’

‘Don’t you dare try and talk to me about hotel policies,’ he warned, lighting one. But then he pulled a face and angrily stubbed it out on the saucer. ‘I don’t even smoke.’

‘Why do you have them, then?’

He didn’t respond, but the look he gave told her she had no right to question him. None. It was Dante who was firing the questions. ‘Is it money you want?’

‘No.’ Alicia shook her head. ‘I told you—I don’t want anything.’

‘Oh, I’m quite sure there’s something.’ He watched as she tied the apron. ‘I’m assuming there are no condoms in there?’
