“Thank you,” I said, taking a small sip. Hints of citrus and a rustic smokey flavor hit my tongue simultaneously. Definitely the good stuff. “I appreciate it.”

“Sure,” he drawled, lounging backwards and taking a sip of his own wine. “Now where were we?”

I smiled shyly.

“Well, I wanted to talk with you about your offer,” were my hesitant words. “It’s very kind but I have to decline.”

His brows raised.

“Really? Well, I have to say that I’m disappointed but of course, I respect your decision. You’re a grown woman who knows her way about the world. So thank you for letting me know.”

I gulped. That was it? He wasn’t going to scream and shout, or at least try to persuade me to change my mind?

“Well the thing is,” I began.

But Dr. Roman held one palm up.

“No, it’s okay,” he said. “I totally get it. You’ve had a couple hours to think things over and it’s not for you,” he shrugged. “Different strokes for different folks, and that’s the way the world turns. I’ve learned after four decades on this earth that you win some, you lose some, and you learn to let it go with peace, instead of agonizing about the whys and hows.”

But although he felt completely at ease, now I was having second thoughts. My brain whizzed this way and that, confusion making my heart beat hard.

“Well the thing is, I had some questions,” I said.

His brows shot up again.

“I thought you already turned me down.”

“I did,” was my quick reply. “But I had some questions, and was hoping you could answer them.”

The billionaire lounged backwards, setting his glass down.

“Sure thing, but I don’t do this kind of stuff for my health,” he said. “It’s late and if you want answers, you’re going to have to give me something as well.”

I stilled because what did I possibly have to offer? I was a penniless twenty-five year old with a bad job and second-hand clothes. Compared to Dr. Roman, it was like putting a shabby second-grade art work next to a masterpiece.

But I gulped and nodded.

“Okay sure,” was my slow reply. “Is there something I can do for you? Do you need back-up for your receptionists? I’m good at filing and organizing. I can definitely do that.”

Those blue eyes gleamed with an emotion that I couldn’t read.

“Naw, sweetheart, not that. You’re so innocent that it’s pretty funny, Connie. What I want is something you’ve never given a man before. Your innocence.”

I gasped.

“I-I’m sorry?” I gasped. “What do you mean?”

The physican leaned forwards then, those azure eyes intent on my curvy form.

“Oh, I think you know what I mean Connie. That first night we met, I touched you in your most sensitive spot. And you held yourself open for me, remember? So I saw your hymen, sweetheart, that covering that was made for a man to break. And I want to rupture it for you.”

My mouth dropped open again.

“But I thought we weren’t going to do the deal.”

“We’re not,” he said silkily, getting up from the white leather couch. “This is separate.”

“Bu-but why would you want to have sex with me if not to conceive?”

His grin became positively wolfish as he advanced.

“Because sweetheart, I have a lot to teach you. And you’ll find that sex can be for a lot of reasons other than reproduction. Give it a try, and you’ll find out. I promise you’ll love it.”

And suddenly, that big body was on me. I gasped in surprise at first, his movements as quick as a panther. But then utter heat took over and I melted into the doctor’s embrace. Strong arms held me close as I was pressed against a wall of hard, male chest, his mouth all-consuming.

“Oh,” I moaned against his lips. “Yes.”

Chase lifted his head a moment to look down into my eyes.

“See?” he said with amusement. “I knew you’d like it. Our first time together told me that, and sweetheart, admit it. You want me.”

By now, my body was on fire. Flames licked through my pussy, scorching upwards to my breasts. My nipples were tight and achy, and my giant bottom rubbed enticingly against his hand.

“Dr. Roman,” I gasped. “But you haven’t answered my questions yet.”

He lowered his head, capturing my mouth with those perfectly sculpted lips once more.

“Don’t worry, I will,” he promised. “After we’re done.”

And with that, the alpha male swept me into his arms, holding me close as he took the stairs one by one.

“You have stairs!” I gasped when our mouths parted for a moment. “I thought this was a penthouse.”

I could feel the rumble in his chest as the big man laughed.

“That’s right, pretty girl. This is a penthouse duplex, so I have the top two floors. The public spaces are on the bottom floor, but the top floor is for bedrooms. And you, sweetheart, are going on the bed.”
