Danny glanced over at me then Noelle before he sighed and replied, “Not yet. Hopefully we will hear something soon. What can I do for you? I’ve got a lot of shit going on and—”

“Yeah, I know one of them is finding Phoebe and Byron. Did you have any luck?”

Danny’s face immediately grew tired. He ran his fingers through his already unruly dark hair.

“No, and Lock is about to tear this hospital apart brick by brick if I don’t find him some answers fast.”

“Alright, friend. That’s why I called. Let’s figure this shit out.” Garrett said and started typing feverishly away.

Twenty minutes had gone by and still nothing. I had filled my belly with two sandwiches, chips, cookies and they still had nothing.

When I returned to the room, full and eager to get moving, I thought of something.

“You geniuses checked the car, right? The Maxima’s GPS tracking device? I know my psycho ass brother installed one when MJ drove the thing.”

“Yes, we checked everything. Nothing. I have no idea how, but the GPS isn’t working.”

I leaned over the table and stared into the troubled eyes of Danny. Then I smiled.

“Did you check her incoming calls? You do know Byron called her? And he texted. You guys have to be able to get the number.”

“Yeah, but that won’t work if he used a burner phone.”

“Right, but how much you wanna bet he used his cell phone.” Both men looked up at me. “Think about it. He thinks he’s already taken care of Lock. He’s home free to be his delusional self. He’s also arrogant as fuck. Why would he use a burner phone when he believes he’s won? Lock’s out of the picture. And Phoebe said he threatened us to get her to do what he said. So…” I shrugged.

Garrett started typing away and ten minutes later he had the number, a minute later we had his location.

I smiled and looked at Noelle. I moved toward her, and we embraced feeling like we were one step closer to finding our girl.

“I’m going to give the address to Lock. Thanks.”

“We’ll meet you all there,” I said once I separated from Noelle.

“The fuck you are!” both Danny and Garrett exclaimed.

I folded my arms and narrowed my eyes.

Danny, knowing me better than Garrett, spoke up. “We don’t need you and Noelle’s help with this. We are completely capable of taking it from here. Believe me. You know Lock isn’t going to let anything happen to Phoebe. He’s going to make sure this asshole pays for what he’s done. What we don’t need is to worry about you two also. Okay? Please don’t have me get my ass kicked?”

The look on his face made me relax just a tad. I felt sorry for him and knew he spoke the truth on all fronts especially the ass kicking part.

I rolled my eyes and sighed. “Fine.”

He breathed out. “Thank you.” Then he was gone.

I waited a few beats then asked Garrett and Reed. “When are we leaving?”

Both Garrett and Reed looked at me incredulously.

I placed my hands on my hips. “I will not have my girl go without backup.”

“You heard him.” Garrett pointed to his screen, his wide eyes on me. “They are sending the calvary. They got it from here.”

I waved him off. “Oh please, you know cops are always late to the scene. Let’s go. The sooner we leave, the sooner we can get there to help her.”

I looked from Reed to Garrett to Reed.

Reed seemed like the one who was milling over what I said. When he nodded his head, resolve on his face, I knew he saw things my way.
