“You’re pathetic. You know the only way you’re ever going to be able to touch me again is by holding me hostage.”

“You seemed quite willing, if the state of your cunt is any indication.”

“You should be ashamed.”

“Aye, I am. But not about this. Now be quiet, or I’ll make good on my threat to gag you.”

“Try to fall asleep, Father Gallagher. You know what a talker I am. I’ll be shouting in your ear the entire time, waking you up whenever you drift off. You won’t know a moment’s peace with me near.”

I huffed. “I haven’t known a moment’s peace since the day you were born.” Gripping her chin, I forced her hate-filled gaze to meet mine.“You will be quiet.”

She blinked at me. “What was that? Did you just try tothrallme?” She slammed her fist against my chest. “You asshole! How dare you use your vampy bullshit against me. To make me act against my will.”

I stiffened, not anticipating she would be immune to it after I’d been able to calm her berserker the night Alek had been taken. Fecking hell. She was going to be impossible now. But I had to sleep, which meant I needed to figure out what to do with her—and fast. Everything in me hurt. If I didn’t rest, she’d be able to best me soon. I couldn’t give her the opportunity.

I took her by the wrist, dragging her into the bedroom. It was harder to keep hold of her than I cared to admit. My strength was leaving me fast as the sun drew higher in the sky. Spying my discarded belt on the floor, an idea came to me.

She could scream all she liked. I was going to be out the second my head hit the pillow. This way, at least, I could be assured she’d still be there when I woke.

With a gentle nudge, I pushed her toward the bathroom, knowing she’d have needs to take care of. If I was truly evil, I’d force her to bed without giving her the luxury, but I wouldn’t do that to her. “Clean yourself up and get ready for bed.”

She stomped inside, slamming the door behind her.

I used the time she was gone to prepare, ripping strips from a blanket and tying them to the bedposts on her side.

“What are you doing?” she demanded, glaring at me from the doorway.

“What does it bloody look like? I’m not risking you doing something stupid like getting yourself lost in the woods. Get on the bed.”

“No.”

Anger and frustration boiled just under the surface. “Get on the bed, or I’ll put you on it.”

“No.”

“Saints preserve us, you are an infuriating woman.”

“And you’re a douchebag.”

I blurred over to where she stood, using the last of my power to grab hold of her and toss her onto the mattress. Then I tied the bindings, and when I was sure she couldn’t break free, I climbed onto the bed, narrowly avoiding the urge to add a gag.

“I despise you.”

“So you’ve said,” I mumbled, my body still humming from the remnants of my orgasm. I closed my eyes, the scent of Sunday filling my senses, and knew nothing more as merciful darkness claimed me.

SUNDAY

Well, that backfired.

What the hell was that, Sunday? One smoldering look and a couple of filthy comments, and you’re practically begging your kidnapper to fuck you. Okay, youdidbeg your kidnapper to fuck you.

I glared over at Caleb. Furious with myself as much as I was at him.

The handsome asshole was already dead to the world, careless that I laid there next to him completely unsatisfied. He knew what he’d done. Left me horny as fuck, wide awake, and pissed the hell off. Knowing it was futile, I gave my bindings an investigatory tug. Nope. No way I was getting free until he untied me.

Even though I wanted nothing more than to cheerfully murder him in his sleep, I had to admit, I loved every moment of his dirty talk. I was a glutton for Caleb, even when he hurt me. Maybe more so then.
