She glared at me.

“The priest took her,” Alek added.

“Caleb is involved in this?” Gabriel said, looking thoughtful. “Then I don’t see the problem. All is going according to plan.”

“Plan? What fucking plan?” I was going to murder someone, and there wouldn’t be a need for any goddamned investigation.

“Stop the Apocalypse. You know this already,” Thorne muttered.

“Oh, you mean that stupid idea you all have to kill an innocent baby?”

My dad stood and glared at me. “It’s not a child, Kingston. It’s the end of the world.”

Hurt stabbed me in the chest. “What are you talking about? You saw the ultrasound. There was a baby. Heart beating, little tiny arms moving. Sure, she looked more like a tadpole than a person, but she was there.”

“Evil can take many forms, son.”

“That’s my fucking child you’re talking about. Not some nameless, faceless being.”

“No, Kingston. You need to stop thinking about it like it’s a real child.”

“Maybe you need tostartthinking about your real child. How could you be part of something that would do this to me? To my mate?”

“Because you’re not my only fucking child. I am responsible for an entire pack. Start thinking like an Alpha, and stop thinking with your dick. This is so much bigger than one person.”

“She’smyperson.”

“Ours,” Thorne said, stepping up to my side.

“Yes, ours.” Alek took up position on my right.

“Fools. The lot of you,” the headmistress grumbled. “It doesn’t matter because the damned priest has her, and if he doesn’t do his job, the world ends. From the way he looks at her, I’d say it’s highly likely we’re all doomed.”

“Isn’t it your job to give us a heads up about these sorts of things?” Finbar snapped at Professor Sinistra.

“Fate speaks as she wills. I cannot control what I See. You know this.”

“Some Seer you are. What good are you if you can’t enlighten us? I could’ve locked her up and thrown away the key when they came to visit.” My dad’s snide voice sent my temper spiking.

“Pot, meet kettle. You’re not doing a very good job with your titles either.” I couldn’t keep the words from leaving my lips.

“What the hell is that supposed to mean?”

“You know exactly what it means,Dad.”

“We need to find Caleb so we can get to Sunday.” Thorne stepped forward, his hands balled into tight fists.

“Why would we help you if Caleb already has her and will see out our plan? Gabriel, you’re confident he will follow through?” The witch cast her gaze on the... fucking biker angel.

He shook his head. “He has free will, Blaire. His connection to Sunday is stronger than any of us thought possible. He knows what hangs in the balance.”

“Would he really choose his dick over his soul?”

Crombie snorted. “Why wouldn’t he?”

Blaire rolled her eyes. “Men.”

“Is there any possibility this child isn’t the bringer of end times?” Tor asked, surprising us all with the intensity of his question. It was impossible to know whose side he was on as he demanded an answer from the Seer.
