Voices suddenly come in the dressing room outside. Another customer, just on the other side of the curtain. “Nero,” I gasp, trying to wriggle away, but he holds me tight. Pinning me against him as he curls one thick finger, and then another inside me. Our eyes meet in the mirror, and fuck, it’s so hot.

I pant, pleasure rising.

“Shh, baby,” he croons, fingers pulsing. “Keep that pretty mouth closed, so they don’t know how close you are.”

I bite back a moan.

“Mademoiselle?” the attendant calls. “Everything is alright?”

“I… Yes!” I blurt, my voice high-pitched. “Thank you!”

Nero bites down lightly on my shoulder. “Maybe I should pull back the curtain,” he muses, his fingers working faster. Harder. “Let everyone see you like this, baby. Legs spread with your skirt up and my fingers buried in your juicy cunt.”

He presses his palm down against my clit as his fingers pulse deep inside me and fuck, I come apart, Nero kissing me just in time to swallow my cry.

Pleasure wracks me, until he lets me go. “I can’t believe we just did that,” I gasp, blushing.

Nero grins, tugging my skirt back down and smoothing the dress. “Yes, you can. And our trip’s just started. I plan to make you come in every designer dressing room in the city.”

He winks, and saunters out of the dressing room, leaving me gasping.

When I finally draw back the curtain, I find the attendant tidying up—with a knowing look on her face. “I… Think we’ll take the dress,” I announce, my cheeks burning.

“Oui mademoiselle. I thought you might.”

Dinner is delicious,on a candlelit terrace with four courses of incredible food and wine, but I barely notice a thing we’re eating. I’m in a haze of joy, watching Nero across the table, holding his hand and trading kisses, like any other honeymooning couple.

The couple I thought we’d never have a chance to become.

“Let’s take a walk,” I suggest, when the meal is finally over. Nero smiles and takes my hand.

“Lead on,” he says.

We meander down to the River Seine, and stroll along the banks of moonlit water, passing other couples and people out late. His phone buzzes, and Nero pulls it out to check. “It’s Avery,” he says with a frown. “It’s a weird time for her to call.”

I sigh, bracing myself for some bad interruption, but instead, Nero declines the call and tucks his phone away. “It can wait,” he says, giving me a smile. “Nothing is more important than my wife.”

“Except that éclair you stole from me at dessert,” I tease, and he chuckles.

“I’ll buy you a whole bakery of éclairs to make it up to you, how does that sound?”

“It sounds like we have our plan for what to do tomorrow.”

We walk a little way further, the breeze warm. It really has been the perfect few days. “You think this will last?” I whisper, voicing the fear still lingering in the back of my mind.

Nero doesn’t have to ask what I mean, we’re already so in tune.

“I can’t promise it will always be like this,” he says, looking over. “We’re only human. We’ll fight, and bicker, and have hard times, as well as the good. But I promise, I’ll always face those hard times beside you.”

I stop walking and pull him down for a kiss. “I love you so much.”

“I love you too,” Nero vows. “We’re forever, you and me,” he whispers, and I smile.

I like the sound of that.
