Liam stomps across the room and drops to his knees in front of me. I tilt my head down hoping he can’t see the streaks of tears on my cheeks.

His big hand lifts my chin and he groans, kissing me softly. “What insanity do you have rolling around in that pretty head of yours? You think I don’t love you? I love you so much that it hurts to breathe the air without you near me. So much that I can’t concentrate if you’re not in the house or the barn. If I know that you’re somewhere else I can’t handle the itchy feeling that steals over me. I just want to drag you back to bed and keep you there so no other man can ever look at you.”

“That sounds like love,” Spring laughs.

I stare deep into his eyes. “But it was a deal. That’s all you said. A simple business transaction to get a baby.”

“Humph!” Clay snorts and everybody turns to glare at him. “Sorry,” he says, pretending to zip his lips.

“I only said that to make you stay. I knew that as soon as you were able to you were gonna leave and I couldn’t handle that. Just the thought makes me want to tear someone apart. But never you. You I just want to love and support and treat you like the damn princess you are. My princess. I swear, baby. I never wanted anything more than to make love to you and fill you with babies. Lock you down so you could never get away from me. I just didn’t want to scare you with how obsessed I am with you.”

A smile creeps across my face. “I think I’d like to see how obsessed you are. Because I love you so much that it hurts like hell. I can’t think about anything but you.”

“Why were you leaving in the middle of the night then?”

“I was scared that when you found out I was pregnant you’d never want to touch me again. That you wouldn’t want to make love or sleep together.”

His eyebrows hit his hairline. “Are you crazy? Why do you think I chased you down every time I found you gone? I need you. I need to feel you next to me.”

Both of the girls are chuckling and Clay’s mouth is hanging open. “Man, did you just miss that?”

Liam looks around, confused. “What? What do you mean?”

“I’m pregnant, Liam.”

He turns his face to me and the slow-growing grin that washes over his face releases the last of my fears.

“Oh, baby girl. I need to get you home right fucking now. I need you.”

He lifts me up and I smile over at the others, waving sheepishly. “I guess I’m going now.”

Liam growls and kisses me desperately. “Don’t expect to see anybody else for awhile, princess.”

I nod my head and giggle. “Got it.”

He carries me out the door and I say, “I can walk you know.”

He glares at me. “Not right now. I’m gonna take care of you. Hey, Clay!”

Clay nods his head. “I’ll make sure the other truck gets back to your place.”

“Thanks, man. For everything.” Both of them share a look and Clay wraps his arm around his very pregnant wife.

“I understand. You have a good time. Remember to come up for food though. She’s eating for two.”

Liam leans across and buckles my seatbelt, his hands cradling my belly. His eyes lift to mine and tears sparkle on his lashes. “Damn! I can’t tell you how happy I am and how much I can’t wait to meet this baby!”

“Me either.”

“Don’t ever leave me though, princess. Cause I’ll hunt your sweet ass down and hog-tie you to the fucking bed until you promise to stay.”

“Promises, promises,” I purr, my hand sliding along his thigh, up to the straining ridge under his zipper.

“Oh, baby.” His eyes sear me, wicked lights dancing in their dark depths. “I don’t make a promise I can’t keep.”

“Good. Because I think I might like that.”

He laughs and puts the truck in motion. “Let’s get you home, baby. Cause I’m gonna make love to you until you can’t walk tomorrow.”
