"Justice?" I laugh abruptly. Jesus Christ. Of course he picks today of all days to stress me the fuck out. This right here is justice, a little divine comedy. I made his sister cry. This is the universe holding my goddamn feet to the fire until I fix it. I can't let him go. I can't let any of them go.

In a matter of hours, federal agents will be crawling all over Satan's Savages' territory. They'll pick them off one by one, scooping up anyone on Hawk's list. Blood will be shed. There's no avoiding that. The fuckers won't go easy. Some won't go at all. If the Diamond Kings are there, they'll go down too. Forsythe will see to it.

Resignation courses through me. The jig is up. I didn't intend to have this conversation until the Savages were out of the picture and I had time to make contingency plans. But there's one rule in an MC that makes or breaks it: The club comes first. Before self, before anything. I'll face their wrath to save their lives and secure their freedom. Without hesitation.

"You can't go, brother," I say softly, clamping my hand down on Risk's arm.

"Don't remember asking you," he retorts, trying to shake me off.

"You aren't hearing me. I can't let you go."

"Uh, who the fuck died and made you my keeper?" He looks at me sideways, his brows furrowed. "And why the fuck do you care so much what I do?"

Because I'm in love with your sister.

"I'm a cop, Risk."

"I know you're fucking lying."

"I'm not. I work gang crimes with Dallas Police Department," I murmur, holding his gaze so he sees the truth in mine. "I've been undercover since I joined the Kings seven months ago."

"What the fuck?"

"In a few hours, federal agents are going to raid Satan's Savages territory on human trafficking and RICO charges. If the Kings are there, they'll go down with them." I swallow hard. "I made a promise to your sister, and I intend to keep it. I can't let you go. I can't let any of you go."

"You made a promise to my sister? What the fuck does that mean?"

"I'm in love with her."

"You motherfucker," Risk says, his voice lethally soft. The look in his eyes matches. He shakes off my grip, his body tense. "You're in love with my sister?"

"Yeah," I say simply. "I am."

I see the punch coming before he even moves but I don't try to dodge it. His fist connects with my jaw, knocking me back a step. Pain explodes in a sunburst, radiating through the bones in my face and down into my neck. It hurts like hell. Christ, he's got power behind that fist. And fury.

"You motherfucker," he roars, his shoulder connecting with my chest.

I land on my back in the gravel with his heavy ass on top of me.

"Fuck!" someone shouts as he rears back to hit me again.

We roll across the gravel before the brothers manage to separate us. Risk lunges for me again, roaring like a wounded bear. He's beyond pissed, and I don't blame him at all. He just found out that I'm a cop, that I'm in love with his sister, and that I've been lying to him about her for weeks all in one fell swoop. Anyone would be pissed in his shoes.

"Risk, chill!" Ruin roars, getting in his face.

"He's fucking my sister!" Risk growls.

"I'm in love with your sister," I say calmly, rubbing my jaw. It's not broken, but goddamn. If he ever decides to try his luck in a cage, he could make a killing. "She feels the same way."

"Yeah?" He glares at me, Tank and Crow holding his arms. "Does she know you're a fucking cop? Or were you lying to her about that like you were lying to the rest of us?"

For a second, complete silence reigns.

And then all hell breaks loose.

"What the fuck?" Ruin roars.

Tank loses his grip on Risk at the same time that Crow lets him go.
