The house is quiet as I make my way down to the kitchen, which suits my plan to sneak in a quick bite to eat before slipping out of the house unnoticed. Dressed in head to toe black leather, I’m fully strapped with my own personal arsenal. I want answers, and I don’t care what I have to do to get them.

My steps falter as I enter the kitchen. Of course he has to be in here still. My body heats as his eyes—as they always seem to do—travel over the length of me.

Doing my best to ignore his presence, I head to the refrigerator and pull out a bottle of water.

“Angel, you got big plans tonight?”

Damn it. Why did he have to go and open that mouth? That deliciously dangerous mouth I want to feel against my own again.

“It’s Angelica. And, yes, I do have big plans. How about you? Any bodies to hide? Shop owners to shake down?”

“Wasn’t planning on it. Although, if you’re thinking of leaving this house dressed like that, I just might.” His lips tip up at one corner, as if he likes the prospect of having an excuse to inflict pain on someone.

It takes a dark soul to recognize like-kind. “Well, get your baseball bat ready, because I fully intend to leave this house dressed like this. And there’s not a damn thing you can do to stop me.”

In a matter of seconds, he has my body smashed against his, his lips a breath away from my own. “You and I both know there are plenty of ways I could stop you from leaving.”

Before I can reply, his lips connect with mine. His tongue forcibly shoves its way inside. His taste is just as intoxicating as it was earlier. My hands climb their way from his chest to the back of his neck. Pulling his face harder against me. Holding him in place as I try my hardest to take control of this kiss. Neo groans into my mouth as he tugs on my ponytail, tilting my head back. He’s not giving up the reins easily. Digging my fingernails into the tender flesh of his neck, I scratch downwards, hoping to draw blood.

Neo doesn’t budge though. No, instead, if it’s even possible, his bulge—now digging into my stomach—hardens. Elongates. And all I can think about is how much I want to wrap my hand around it, stroke it, lick it, suck it.

“What the fuck?” T yells from behind me.Where the hell did he come from? Neo pulls away like he’s had a bucket of cold water thrown over him.

“Ah, T, it’s not what it looks like.” He holds his hands up in surrender.

“Really, because what it looks like is that you just had your slimy little tongue down my sister’s fucking throat,” T growls.

“Well, fuck, I guess it is what it looks like.” Neo smirks as he winks at me.

“Seriously, you just couldn’t fucking help yourself?” T’s yelling. “And you!” He points a finger at me. “You can do way better than the likes of him.”

Now I’m just fucking confused. What’s his problem?

“Thanks, I love you too, coz.” Neo sounds unaffected, but I see the flicker in his eyes; he’s not happy about that comment. At all.

“Okay, settle down, Theo. I’ve managed my whole life without a sibling. I don’t need you doing the whole big brother act now. He’s hot. I was bored, so I kissed him. If it makes you feel any better, it was my doing, not his.” I stand in front of Neo. I’m not going to let these two kill each other because of me.

“Yeah, and I bet he put up a real fucking fight,” T rebuts, running his hands through his hair like he’s trying to restrain his temper.

“Ah, T, I want a cheeseburger. Can we go get burgers?” Holly finally speaks up.

I watch as T directs his gaze to her stomach. “No. You’re not eating fucking fast-food burgers. If you want a burger, I’ll make you one.”

Holly sits at the counter, her eyes bouncing between the two men in the room. “Do you want me to help? I can get some salad?”

“Nope, you just sit, dolcezza. I’ve got this,” T grunts, as he goes about opening and slamming cupboards.

“Any chance I can get one of those burgers?” Neo walks around me to sit next to Holly at the bench. The death glare T sends him would make most men beg for mercy. “I’ll take that as a no. Holly, it was a pleasure to see you as always. Angelica, well, thanks for sharing saliva. I’m sure I’ll see you around. You know where to find me, T.” Neo walks out, and I hear the front door slam shut a few minutes later.

Holly pushes to her feet. “I’m just going to the bathroom,” she calls out as she makes her escape from the kitchen.

I wait a minute before I gather my thoughts. Sothatjust happened. I was fully prepared to take a ride on the muscular crazy train that is Neo Valentino. “Really, Theo? I don’t need you butting into my life like that.” I direct my self-loathing at my newly appointed brother.

“No, you probably don’t. But as long as you’re my sister, you’ll just have to get used to it.” T shrugs.

I quietly imagine all the ways I could take him out. If he wasn’t blood, I might have followed through with one of them. “I know thirty different ways to kill you and make it look like an accident.”

“I know fifty.” He shrugs again.
