Her brows drew together. “Anything?”

He nodded once.

“All I ever wanted was you.” She padded across the room, stopping just short of touching him. Her face was earnest because she desperately needed him to understand. “I want you to talk to me. I want you to tell me what’s in here,” she pointed to his head, then his chest. “And here. I want you to tell me what you’re afraid of and worried about, and I want you to tell me what you need from me. I want to be your partner, a true partner you can depend on. I want you to kiss me often and sleep with me always. I want to wake up beside you every morning for the rest of our lives. But most of all, I want you to be honest with me, your highness.”

His eyes flared at everything she was offering. Before he could speak, she lifted a finger, pressing it to his lips.

“I had no examples of love, when I was growing up. I’m flying blind here. But I do know that there’s no one I want to learn with more than you.”

His smile was sheer arrogant certainty once more, and she was glad to see it. That was the man she’d first fallen in love with. “We will be the blind leading the blind,” he quipped.

“But I suspect we’ll work it out,” she shrugged, lifting onto the tips of her toes.

“You’re right, as always, my love.”

She sighed happily, those words wrapping around her heart and squeezing it tight. “My favourite title yet.”

“My love,” he repeated, kissing her slowly. “My queen, my Sheikha, my love, my life.”

“My happily ever after,” she said, kissing him right back. She had no doubts, no questions, only relief, because she completed him and he completed her and together they were whole, and they were happier than either had ever known they could be…

“Marry me,” he demanded, as his hands wrapped around her back.

“Yes.”

“As soon as it can be arranged.”

She smiled against his lips. “Even sooner than that.”
