That was in ten minutes.

I had to do this alone, but I took some comfort in that support was nearby. Sloan was lingering in the city after picking up his kids. They’d go to McDonald’s and later meet up with Archie and Kyla, who’d spent the day with his sister. I mean, we’d all woken up here this morning, and it’d seemed unnecessary to drive all the way to Winchester when we had things to do in the city later.

Well, Greer was working as usual, but Sloan and I had been in Mclean helping out. The crew that had assembled the massive tent was finished, and now we were working on turning it into a club. Sloan, Colt, Macklin, and Reese had installed heaters and finished the flooring while several others had been on a furniture hunt.

I was part of this. Marcus wasn’t holding me back, saying we didn’t have time for community stuff. In his eyes, paying the monthly fee was enough. It granted us access to our kink club. But it wasn’t enough for me. These were my friends. They were my second family. I wanted to be involved and spend my spare time with them.

A new message popped up in the group chat, and it was Sloan.

Thinking about you, Corey. You’ve got this. You’ve already come a long way. And if you need me, I’m two stops away on the Metro.

It wasn’t more than seconds later that Archie texted too.

Think about tonight, love. We’re going to have so much fun.

I drew another deep breath and nodded to myself. He was right. I was looking forward to tonight, and we’d be back at their farm. Despite the cold, we were going to bundle up and gather for a barbecue on the bigger porch behind the house. Greer and Reese were our grill masters. TenShay were staying at least till the weekend, and all the kids would be there…

“Gah!” I dropped my phone, and my heart jumped up my throat at the sound of a knock on my window. “Fuck me!”

It wasn’t Marcus. It was Greer. Oh my gosh.

My heart pounded so fast.

Holy fuck.

I undid my seat belt and opened the door. “You scared me, Dominus.”

He had to bend down to peer into the car. “I was waitin’ for you to come out, squirt. You didn’t think I’d let you do this alone, did you?”

I chuckled nervously, waiting for my heart to calm down, and I climbed out of the car. “As happy as I am to see you…” And no words could describe just how happy. “Won’t it look bad if I break up with someone and have a chaperone?”

“I wasn’t planning on being in the same room.” He lifted my chin and dipped down for a kiss, and I kinda melted. I was a hussy boy for this man. “But I’m gonna eavesdrop like I’m Tate and Ivy on a matchmaking project, and I’ll barge in caveman-style if that fucker oversteps his bounds.”

Leave it to Greer to actually make me blush.

“I like caveman-style,” I admitted and fidgeted with the strap across his black tee. He actually had suspenders that went with his utility pants. It was hot. The logo of their business, Finlay Services & Distribution, was printed over his left-side pec. “But aren’t I keeping you from work?”

“Nope. I scheduled only DC deliveries today, and I worked through my afternoon break. I’m done for the day.”

He’d thought of everything, huh?

“Okay, sweetest Sadist ever. Let’s go upstairs before he gets here, then.”

He smirked. “I was kinda hoping he’d catch me sticking my tongue down your throat. That’s how mature I am at almost forty-five.”

If he was trying to make me laugh, he succeeded.

We headed inside together and took the elevator to my floor, and I was a little surprised Lane wasn’t camped outside my door. Because I’d told him I was talking to Marcus today, as opposed to tomorrow which I’d originally planned, and he’d demanded all the details.

“Nervous?”

I nodded and unlocked the door. “I should’ve gone to the bathroom before we left the cabin.”

“I don’t think those words have ever been uttered about the bathroom in my cabin.”

I grinned quickly. He was right. He and Sloan—even Archie—complained about the size of the bathroom.

Once inside, Greer stalked over to the couch and sat down with a proper manspread. After our night out yesterday, he’d told me it was one of the most comfortable couches he’d sat on, and then he’d promptly fallen asleep on it. River, Reese, and Shay had taken my bedroom, and Sloan, Archie, and I had shared my new inflatable guest bed. Which turned out to be super comfy until you woke up in the middle of the night with all of us crammed into a dip at the center.

“Can I get you anything to drink, Dominus?” I asked.
