“No problem,” I tell them both and leave with a kiss to the top of my girl’s head.

Once alone, I take my phone out and dial the number, I’ve missed calling the most. With permission from Frank and the FBI, I call my mom to tell her the good news.

Chapter Seventeen

Blair

Lumi stayed for about an hour telling me all about her plans for her stalker. One would think calling the police would be in order but apparently, he’s much more to her than just a stalker. I’m very interested to see what happens between those two and I’m happy for my friend. She deserves a man who would go to such extreme lengths for her safety, and boy is he in for a surprise.

Days after the trial things are finally calming down and Dalton started making the changes he needed to get his life back. First and foremost, he called his mom. She’s great and plans to come to visit after the new year.

Then he re-introduced himself to everyone here and explained how he hated lying but only lied about his name. Everyone assured him it was ok, and Fitzy had told them the whole story when she basically forced the tenants to come to her pool party surprise celebration. Now we’re all counting down the days until Christmas and preparing for an epic party. Fitzy pulled some strings and got Bake Love To Me to cater all the food, which is supposed to be an experience not just a dinner. If Fitz hired them, part of me worries how crazy this dinner party is going to get but I also know if I have Dalton Andrews, my own superman by my side, everything will be just fine.

I find Fitzy drinking a Pumpkin Spice Martini in her usual lounge chair by the pool shouting out orders to the staff as they hurry to get everything perfect. She’s dressed head to toe in red velvet, like a sexy Mrs. Clause. The Chippendale boys she hired are running around here in tiny red shorts and Santa hats. Leave it to Fitzy to remember the eye candy this Christmas.

“The table rentals are here. Want me to direct them to the ballroom?” I ask and she nods. The ballroom is this tall room with floor-to-ceiling windows overlooking the city and has a flat rooftop area for more party-goers. Fitzy once told me she had the place specially built from an idea in her head. A mix of all the places in the world she traveled to. That’s why each layout of the condos might be the same, but the colors and appliances are all different. Plus, she puts her Fitzy touches on everything. Splashes of bright colors paint the details of the building throughout, and it is by far the best place I’ve ever lived.

Dalton and I decided he should move into my condo as soon as possible so he left the couch when we were talking and came back with his backpack full of everything he owns. My heart ached, knowing he was forced to give up all his belongings when he went into hiding, now that he’s free, I have a big Christmas surprise for him. I might have gone overboard but with Fitzy helping me how could I not.

Hours later everything in the ballroom and pool area as well as the rooftop bean bag lounge is set and overly festive. I know Sylvia will cringe at all the Holiday decor, but she should know by now Fitz doesn’t do anything half-assed. Everyone starts coming out to celebrate and to my surprise, everyone seems to be coupled up. It would seem that while I was falling in love and putting the mob in jail, my friends all found someone.

A giant Christmas Tree is set up and couple by couple, everyone places their silly elephant gifts underneath. I wanted to make this year extra special so I bought everyone something, I hope they’re not mad, but I couldn’t help myself. Why have all this money if I’m never going to spend it. The gift for Ivy though was mostly made. It’s a baby book of sorts, a bit about how his or her mommy and daddy met and fell in love…I glamorized of course, babies don’t need to know what a one night stand is.

“Hey there you are,” Dalton says, coming up behind me as I finish setting out the champagne flutes.

“Here I am,” I sing happily as I turn around in his arms, and wrap mine around his neck.

“I was wondering if I could give you your Christmas present now?”

“It’s only Christmas Eve, don’t you want to wait until tomorrow morning?”

He shakes his head fighting a cheeky smile. “I don’t think she’ll want to wait that long. It’s kind of cold tonight.”

I turn my head to see what he’s looking at and my sister Poppy is standing there with her suitcase and a martini. I laugh, assuming Fitzy got to her first and quickly push up on my toes to kiss my wonderful man.

“You brought my sister here?”

“I did.” He says and I kiss him once more and say thanks, before running off toward Poppy.

We hug each other tight, and girl squeal so loud I think we might break the glass ceiling.

“I can’t believe you’re here,” I tell her.

“Believe it, babycakes,” Poppy says, using her old nickname for me. “It’s been too long. I’m sorry.”

I pull back to look at my older sister, who has always taken care of me. “You have nothing to be sorry for. Planes fly both ways and I should come to visit more often. Next time I’ll come to California.”

“I would love that.” She smiles and pulls me in for another hug. Her huge boobs between us make it hard to rest my head on her shoulder like I used to.

“Is it possible your boobs got bigger? It really isn’t fair.”

“No, they’re not and you got the ass so it is fairzy.” She laughs.

I shrug at her comment knowing I have a lot more junk in my trunk, and since Dalton seems to appreciate it so much, I’ve come to terms with it being a good asset and not something to make me feel self-conscious about anymore.

“Touché.”

We giggle and hug more until we’re joined by more friends. I do all the intros and soon the sun starts setting bringing all the twinkling lights to life.
