I would miss seeing Brix most every day, but I understood even if he remained in Paso Robles full-time, he and I would spend less time together now that he was with Addy. I certainly didn’t begrudge him that happiness.
“Leah’s reaction to you on the plane was perplexing.”
I shook my head. “I thought so too.”
“Do not take it personally, Ridge. The grudge she holds is not against you.”
I studied him. “There you go again, dropping these hints when you have no intention of telling me the full story.”
“Have you spoken with your father?”
“He and my mom are in Australia, visiting the Cullens.”
Tryst nodded slowly. “It is understandable why you’d wait.”
“Noah Cullen is my father’s best friend.” He was the man I’d been named after. “And you know how close his wife and my mom are. Should I interrupt their time away with something that happened years ago? Was there something wrong with what my father did? From what I can tell, all he was trying to do was help the Reeve family.”
He looked off in the distance. “Perhaps.”
