“Let me,” said Noah. “I’m the least help here.”

He stood, walked a short distance away, and placed a call.

“We should start mobilizing supplies as well as medical personnel. Do we have an ETA on the ship?” Dalton asked.

“Yes. It’s expected in approximately thirty-six hours,” Merrigan responded.

Noah was still on the phone but approached the table. “Press said he and Beau can go to Felixstowe now. According to the terminal, there are several empty warehouses.”

“Clear it with Ares first,” she said without looking up from something she was typing on her computer.

“Roger that,” said Noah, walking away again.

“I’m working on mobilization,” Merrigan said to Dalton. “How soon do you want personnel to begin arriving?”

“Given when the ship is scheduled to arrive, I’d like to get the triage center set up as soon as possible. Support personnel can arrive in as few as three or four hours prior.”

“The containers won’t be off-loaded immediately,” said Noah.

“Right.”

“I’d like to head there now myself,” said Dalton. “What did Ares say?”

“Cayman is the point man at the port. He’s traveling there with Press and Beau. From what Press said, MI5 has been alerted, as was customs and border protection.”

Merrigan looked up again. “All teams are beginning mobilization, including victim response and support.” She turned to me. “I understand you will want to be there for your sister.”

“Yes.”

“You must prepare yourself.”

I nodded. “I can do this.”

She looked up at Noah but didn’t say anything. I saw him nod.

“Very well. We should prepare to leave as well. Anticipate it could be two or three days before we return to London. Perhaps longer. While it’s only two hours one way, it’s the round trip that becomes problematic.”

“Copy that,” said Dalton, standing and closing his computer. “I’ll continue working on the basic plan on our way there.”

“Kade will be here in thirty minutes and will bring what I’ll need. Can we all be ready to leave by then?”

“I’ll be ready before that,” I told her.

“As will I,” added Noah.

“Very well. I’ll tell my husband to step on it. I’ll also tell him to bring food. It’s hard to say when we’ll get the chance to eat again.”

I left the room to put away what little I’d unpacked last night while Noah did the same.

“I can sit in the back,”I offered when we were getting in the SUV.

“You and Noah take the second row. I’m going to be working on the triage plan the entire way.”

Since no one spoke for the first several minutes after I’d eaten one of the sandwiches Kade brought, I felt myself getting drowsy.

“Put your head on my shoulder and sleep,” said Noah, putting his arm around me.

“It feels like it’s all I’ve been doing.”

“Stress takes a heavy toll on your body. Besides, like eating, who knows when we’ll get the chance to sleep again.”

“He’s right,” said Merrigan, looking over the seat. “Sleep while you can. I plan to do the same.”
