“You could have done that instead of kidnapping Alex,” Luca fired back, his anger radiating off him in waves.

“No.” She shook her head. “The black book isn’t at Wellington Manor. And it’s not a book. It’s a data storage drive.”

His eyebrows rose. “Where is it?”

“In a vault in Switzerland,” she confessed. “I don’t know which bank.”

Luca walked away from my mother and stopped in front of me. Teeth clenched, he looked at me, then to Bastian and Marcello. Damian moved to his side, waiting for him to speak.

Lowering his voice, Luca said, “If the drive is really in Switzerland, Fitzy will wait for Carl to retrieve it.”

“I doubt my grandfather would travel to Switzerland for it,” I pointed out. “He has people who do that for him.”

Luca shook his head. “It’s too valuable. He’ll go himself.”

“Which means your grandfather is also in danger,” Marcello cut in. “Fitzy probably already has teams following him, waiting for him to make a move.”

“This makes sense why we could never get ahead of the situation with Russians,” Bastian said with anger in his tone. “My grandfather has been working against us.”

“I told you something was off with The Founders Society,” Luca countered. “With their help, we could have captured the Russians. We could’ve had Alex removed from theIl Circowebsite.”

Bastian scratched at the corner of his jaw and sighed. “I can’t believe he did this.”

“I can,” Damian grunted. “I’ve been telling you for years, there’s something not right about him. And that’s saying a lot coming from me.”

Marcello snickered. “We need to talk to Dad. Taking on Fitzy before the Founders admit us into the society will fuck up our plans.”

Luca nodded in agreement.

Damian pointed a finger at my mother and her accomplice. “What do you want to do with them?”

“Keep them alive until we talk to Dad,” Luca confirmed. “Carl may want to speak with Savanna before he starts a war.”

“Carl has everything to gain with Fitzy out of the way,” Marcello said. “He could have been involved with the kidnapping.”

“My grandfather is a lot of things,” I said in his defense. “But he would never sell me to a Mafia boss.”

“He sold you to us,” Luca said in a flippant tone that made me want to smack him across the face.

“Don’t talk to me like that, Luca! I’m not a stock or a piece of art. I am not and never have been for fucking sale.”

He held out his hand, and I stepped back from him.

“You know I didn’t mean it like that, Drea.”

Bastian curled his thick arm around me and kissed the top of my head. “We didn’t buy you, Cherry. A woman as special as you is invaluable.”

I smiled. “Even if I were for sale, you couldn’t afford me.”

He laughed. “That’s what makes you so special.”

Luca pulled me out of Bastian’s arms, sliding his fingers down my arms in a soft, soothing motion. “You’re irreplaceable. One of a kind. Like the Mona Lisa.”

I smiled at his sweet comparison. “Nice save. But talk about me like our relationship was a transaction again, and you’ll see just how cold this ice queen can be.”

“So vicious.” He kissed my lips. “One of the many reasons I love you.” Then he pointed at my mother and her accomplice. “I’ll deal with those two.” His gaze turned to Marcello and Bastian. “Go back to the house and talk to Dad. See what he wants us to do about the Founders.”

“I’ll stay with you,” Damian offered.
