As River grunted and moved his hips even faster, she finally stuck her fangs into his skin and lapped at his sweet, rich blood. He growled above her and stopped his hips, but she barely noticed as she drank from him, lapping, and licking every drop she could swallow. The smooth, decadent flavor, combined with his orgasm, dulled her instinct's need with each passing second.

But then she felt his fingers on her hard little pearl and soon she cried out as wave after wave of pleasure coursed through her. Little lights danced at the edges of her vision and the combination of her orgasm and his blood made the waves and pulses go on and on until she finally had to release his neck to avoid taking too much.

She somehow had the presence of mind to lick his wound closed before laying in a motionless heap, too exhausted to do much but breathe.

He kissed her cheek, her nose, her chin, and finally her lips. "I definitely think you need to come again after giving me the hardest, most intense orgasm of my life."

She frowned, wondering how he'd do that. Surely he couldn't make her come again so soon.

Then his finger was on her clit and the slight heat and jolt of magic raced through her body, and swirled round and round her little bundle of nerves.

Nora arched off the bed as she shouted his name, gripped his arms, almost crying from the intensity of the pleasure, which bordered oh so close to pain without crossing over.

She had no idea how long the spasms lasted. But when she was on the verge of begging him to stop, River removed his hand and she slumped into the bed. She could barely say, "What…was…that?"

He stared down at her, a smug grin on his face. "That was me using my magic. While it's mostly for healing, I can manipulate the body. And I fully intend to use it to make my female lose her mind as often as possible."

In any other situation, she'd hate someone manipulating her. But in this moment, she smiled. "It was bloody fantastic."

He put a mock expression of horror on his face. "Did Nora, my Nora, just say 'bloody?' What is the world coming to?"

She half-heartedly hit his chest. "Unfortunately, someone is influencing me. In the worst ways possible."

River grinned. "And I'll take that as a badge of honor." He took her lips in a slow, lingering kiss before laying down next to her. He brought her back to his front and notched his chin over her shoulder. As soon as he laid an arm over her waist, he hugged her close. "Besides, you know you fucking love it. One day, you'll be as bad as me."

She shook her head, not even trying to hide her smile. "Never."

They laid in silence a second. Not strained, but comfortable, River's hand stroking her belly as his breath danced against her cheek.

She could stay like this all day and still want more of him.

He asked, "So, how did I do? Do I earn a good enough grade to do that again, and again, and again?"

She laughed at the eagerness in his voice and snuggled her bum against his groin. Even if he was only slightly swollen at this point, she was content to wait until he was ready again. "I suppose. Although I will definitely need more examples to fully judge you."

He nibbled her shoulder. "Oh, I think I can handle that, baby. The benefits of marrying a young male, you know." His noticeably stiffer manhood prodded against her rear. "It doesn't take me long to recover," he whispered. "Plus, I can use my magic on myself and be hard in an instant. I will literally be at your beck and call, love. Anytime, anywhere."

For a second, she thought of suggesting they visit her brother's pleasure house and see what else River could show her. But then the thought of walking amongst so many people who knew her past, might whisper, made her push the thought aside. Maybe one day she'd be ready to face them, but Nora didn't think she was quite ready for that.

Besides, she didn't want to leave their new home for days. She merely wanted time with her new husband.

Husband. Such a strange thought after so many decades of never thinking she'd have one. And yet, she already couldn't imagine her life without her fae witch healer.

River rubbed a hand over her belly. "Do you want me to use my magic, like we talked about?"

In other words, did she want to conceive?

Nora would always grieve the children she'd lost—her father had signed a binding contract stating she couldn't seek them out without being tossed in prison—but she wanted another chance, another start. To be there from the beginning and know she could love and cherish her little girl or boy without fear of losing them.

The fact the babe's father would be River would make it all that much better. "Yes. I still long for a child with you, River."

Warmth tingled across her skin and went deeper. Closing her eyes, she merely leaned against her husband and concentrated on the spreading warmth, the feeling of his fingers caressing her belly, and his breath against her neck.

She had nearly fallen asleep when he kissed her neck and whispered, "It's done. We should wait a few weeks to ensure everything goes smoothly before telling anyone else." He lightly pressed against her lower abdomen. "But a new life is starting right here, Nora. Our child."

Tears prickled as emotions overwhelmed her. Yet another thing she'd never thought to occur had happened.

Needing to be closer to her new husband, Nora turned in his arms so she could bury against his chest. He stroked her hair, and kissed her head, and murmured soothing words she didn't really hear.
