“She went to the restroom with her friend and they were gone for a while. I went to check on them and her friend was standing outside of the door, still waiting. Tabitha ditched her.” Matt groaned. “I knew I should’ve followed them.”

“Don’t panic yet.” Tyler tried to remain calm. “Aaron, eyes.”

Aaron was the one who should be able to see everything. He had access to the cameras in the building and his eyes could quickly scan the screens. How had they lost two people?

“There’s a blind spot. Archie, wherever you were, I couldn’t see you. There’s a section of three hallways that are completely uncovered.” Aaron’s voice came across the ear piece.

He paused at where the bathrooms were, then retraced his steps. James was on his phone next to him.

“Do we have someone down there?” James questioned someone, then nodded. He hung up and looked at Archie. “It’s the basement.”

That fucker took her down there? “Damn it!” Archie should have put a bullet in him when he had a chance. “We need help.”

“Who are you talking to?” Tyler questioned.

“Some of the club is here,” he answered.

“Wait, the motorcycle club? The one your dad is president of?” Matt asked.

“I thought they looked familiar. There are like half a dozen of them scattered around.” Aaron laughed. “It’s a good thing they’re here. I think we’re going to need the help.”

They needed a new plan. Tabitha was supposed to be safe while the others took care of her ex. If he took her down there, they might be in over their heads. It wasn’t something Archie wanted to admit.

“We’ve got one guy down there. He’s bartending or something. We haven’t heard from him in a while and can only assume he’s undercover and keeping an eye on things.”

“Who is it?”

James grinned. “Brian.”

It helped calm the nerves a little to know someone from the club was down there already. If Ryan took Tabitha down there, at least someone had eyes on her. Someone was there to make sure nothing bad happened. Brian wouldn’t be the first person he’d choose, but that was because he was reckless. It had nothing to do with him getting the job done.

Archie walked down the corner and turned. A man was standing in front of an elevator. This was it.

“It’s time to go to the basement, boys.” Archie grinned.

Archie and James approached the man. He knew what they must look like. One of them in a suit and the other in his cut. What a pair at an event like this.

“We have an appointment.” James crossed his arms.

The man laughed. “I don’t think so.”

Archie turned to look at James. “Shall you or I?”

“It’d be my pleasure, mate.” James faked an Aussie accent before stepping closer to the man. “This could’ve gone much easier.”

James punched the man in the gut, he’d barely bent but James was bringing his knee up and his hands down on the guy’s head. The man stood and staggered slightly with a bloody nose. “Lights out.” James laughed before punching him again.

“It's time to go.” Archie told the others.

James started to pull the guy out of the way. “He’s a heavy wanker.” His fake accents weren’t as amusing as he probably wished they were.

Archie shook his head as he helped pull the guy out of the way. He opened up a storage closet, and they hid the body in there. As they were closing the door, several footsteps came rushing down the hall.

“About time!” James laughed.

“Dad.” Archie glanced at the approaching group, then reached over and pressed the button on the wall.

“We don’t know what we’ll be getting into down there.” Tyler pulled the gun from behind him.
