I grabbed his hand. “I have my own surprise for you.” I paused and a look of realization passed over his face.
“Are you - “
“Pregnant? Yes!” I smiled so hard my face hurt.
He jumped off the stool and pulled me into his arms, hugging me so tight I couldn’t breath.
“When did you find out?” He released me and we sat back down, but he didn’t let go of my hand.
“This morning actually when you were dropping off the boys. I suspected it for about a week now, but I haven’t had a chance to do a test.” I took a sip of my water.
He chuckled. “I worked so hard to surprise you with this trip but you’ve given me the best surprise, Princess.”
I leaned over and kissed his cheek. “You did fine, babe. I couldn’t be happier.”
And I meant that. Not just about taking a trip, but being married to Henry and having a family with him was like a dream come true. I couldn’t ask for anything more.
