I grinned and held out a hand. “I’m Conan.”

She put her tiny hand in mine and shook it firmly. “Rebecca. It’s nice to meet you. I’m sorry my friends have been so annoying.”

“It’s ok. Could I buy you a drink?”

REBECCA

I’d sworn up and down to my friends I wasn’t interested in the hot bartender or any other man for that matter, but with Conan standing here in front of me, I was questioning that.

“Sure,” I beamed. Who was I to turn down a drink?

“Great!” He gave me a panty melting crooked smile and wondered if that drink was such a good idea. I was already feeling tipsy and the drunker I got, the less immune I was to the charms of a good looking guy.

As we walked, he had his hand on the small of my back and I felt a jolt of electricity between my legs. There was no doubt I was attracted to this man. We stopped at the bar where we ordered.

“Give the lady whatever she wants!” He yelled at the bartender. He looked at me with a grin. “Don’t worry, I know him.” He winked at me as the bartender walked over, giving him the finger. Clearly the two knew each other.

We ordered and when the bartender came back with our drinks, Conan handed mine to me and took a drink of his beer. “Should we go back to your friends?”

“Don’t you have to pay?” He shook his head.

“Nah, I own the place. These are on me. In fact, you and your friends can drink the rest of the night on me.”

“Thank you!” I turned back to my friends and raised my drink. “Drinks are on the house! Conan owns the place!”

I was met by the cheers of my two friends. Good thing we took an Uber to get here tonight. I had a feeling none of us would be in any shape to drive home.

Conan was totally charming all night, making sure our drinks were never empty. He told us so many funny stories about the bar. We laughed so hard we almost peed our pants. The more he talked, it seemed the more affectionate he got with me. And I let him. Conan was funny and cute and charming and most of all, fun. I could do with some fun in my life.

It was getting late and a slow song came on. Conan pulled me to the dance floor despite my protests. He wrapped himself around me and we began to move slowly to the music.

“Just so you know,” I whispered into his ear. “I’m not looking for a relationship.”

He leaned back and smiled down at me. “That’s perfect then, because neither am I. I don’t really do relationships.”

I grinned up at him and he bent down to kiss me. It was a slow kiss, nothing too passionate since we were one of about five couples on the dance floor.

When the kiss ended, he put his lips to my ear. “Want to go up to my place? I have an apartment above the bar.”

I glanced back at my friends who gave me thumbs up. I caught my bottom lip between my teeth and then nodded. “Yes please.”

“Good. You say goodbye to your friends and I’ll finish up at the bar and meet you in the back by the bathrooms?”

He kissed my lips and grabbed my ass before I headed back to Victoria and Allison. Allison grabbed my arm and pulled me against her right away.

“That was some kiss,” she whispered. “You guys are hot together.”

“I’m staying and going up to his place.” I felt my face get warm when Allison let out a squeal and Victoria high fived me.

“Have fun and be safe.”

I hugged them both and headed back towards the bathrooms to find Conan. He wasn’t anywhere to be found so I pulled out my phone to check emails. Arms suddenly came up from behind and pulled me back against a hard body.

“I’m so glad you agreed to come up to my place. We’re going to have some fun.” He spun me around and gave me that wink that made my knees week.

It probably wasn’t a great idea to go home with someone I just met, but damn, after the month I’d had, I deserved some fun too. And Allison and Victoria were good at watching out for me. They knew where I was and who I was with.
